Bungie.next Beta: Day TWO
Bungie Community,
Welcome to the second day of our beta. It's been 24 hours, and we've detected several shifts in the weather. Feedback has been collected. Enhancements have been discussed. Work has begun on a few changes that have us even more excited about this brave new world.
Keep talking to us. Migrating to this new platform for interaction is a challenge. The more you can tell us what would make things better, the better we will make things.

I hope this doesn't sound too "please sir, may I have some more", but now that we have the ability to post pictures on the forums would it be in the realm of possibility to upload our own avatars? I almost feel like that could be too much change all at once, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway.

I actually really like it DeeJ, a black background and titles would be great though. Other than that, I tip my hat off to the web team. They did an outstanding job.

4 RepliesThe tag system is not working for me so far. People are simply tagging their threads with every tag they can think of: Community, Bungie, offtopic, flood and then the thread is about what you eat for breakfast in the morning. If it were only one or two people it would be easy to deal with using the hid button however it is a pervasive issue. Everyone wants their thread to be seen by everyone so they are intentionally misusing the tag system. Every time there was a discussion about doing away with forums such as the Flood or any forum really the replies were always "well then the topics will just spill over into every aspect of Bungie.net" clearly that has happened. I think that combining the tag system and the old forum system would have been much more preferable to simply getting rid of forums completely, and I think that a large portion of the community agrees with me.

2 RepliesYou're well aware of my general criticisms so far, and things are looking positive so far with regards to how the flat forum structure is working out (it's actually SURPRISINGLY GOOD). On top of my list-of-shite-i've-noticed that i've already posted, one thing I'd like to see a slight change to, just to make things a little bit more slick, is when you go back to edit a post, simply have the edit textbox completely replace the original text of your post. Having the full original post and a textbox showing exactly the same stuff underneath it is a little redundant, and actually editing what is there, rather than having an interactive element presented, is a lot smoother for the user.

SO far I'm enjoying myself a lot with this new features, the whiteness is still killing me. Also can you make the tags, not to mix the topic tags? Example: When someone post a thread, and people tags #Community #FloodOfftopic #Bungie <--- can you please not let this tags combine? Leave the offtopic tags with offtopic stuff and stop mixing them with the community tags or other tags Also, is it possible for the user customize his/her own background color?

Fixing the comments section is the best improvement I can come up with. Make it so comments appear in chronological order from top to bottom. Also make it so replies to comments aren't hidden. I think these two changes would really make a difference.

I like the Photo posting really great feature. Like the idea of hastaging but we need actual forum sections. Hate the white background.

stop thinking Im dumd deej, that hurts my feelings. :/ OT: The obvious white has a mundane, ye olde feeling to it, there needs to be a way to segregate or control the bleeding of topics in regards to tags. When I want community, I don't want #flood #offtopic as well. Perhaps I just don't understand the tagging system, but that would be nice. I like it though. I like it a lot.

Whether you'll read this or not, I'm not sure. I seem to be having a problem with quoting the OP but not the comments. When I quote the OP the quote only says "undefined" but I don't have that problem with comments(or I haven't encountered the problem with them yet). I'm using Firefox. Please look into it.

Please, oh god please, get rid of the gay hashtags and give us forums back. Forums are cool, twitter 2.0 is not. Also, give us quotes back and get rid of this stupid replying to individual posts thing.
