Bungie.next Beta: Day TWO
Bungie Community,
Welcome to the second day of our beta. It's been 24 hours, and we've detected several shifts in the weather. Feedback has been collected. Enhancements have been discussed. Work has begun on a few changes that have us even more excited about this brave new world.
Keep talking to us. Migrating to this new platform for interaction is a challenge. The more you can tell us what would make things better, the better we will make things.

2 RepliesThis is kind of minor, but I think the "View at your own risk" that shows up when people embed images, GIFs, and YouTube videos is kind of unfriendly. It's understandable that people sometimes dick around and post shock images, but I don't think it's so common that we absolutely need to warn people of this every time an image gets posted. (Not to mention that one of the most basic rules of the internet is that everything you click is at your own risk.) A simple message of "Click to view image" or "Image - Click to view" along with the link to the Terms of Use would suffice.

It's always nice to know that you guys actually pay attention to the community. I would like to see the avatars enlarged as well as some other small things which have been mentioned in the community. How is the team responding to our reaction so far by the way?

3 RepliesDeeJ, I don't like this at all, it doesn't feel like a forum, I much prefer the way it was before, it was unique in it's own way compared to most other forums! I seriously hope this isn't permanent.

Could the position of the thread hotness meter (currently the septagon shape thingy) be put back next to the thread's title? It was much easier to recognize as a a hot thread when it was not on the other side of the screen.

2 RepliesI don't know if anyone has brought this up, but i can't seem to undo likes/dislikes things. I accidentally clicked dislike ona thread earlier and I couldn't seem to undo it except for liking it.

It's actually a really nice layout. I just don't like the hashtag system and how the site is white. Maybe a very little bit of customization will help?

You really should have seen the hashtag abuse coming. People are spamming their threads with every tag under the sun in an effort to get seen, which ends up making the entire system pointless.

For some reason the website loves to sign me out whenever it feels the need to. However if I return to a previous page or sometimes when I enter a thread, it logs me back in. It's incredibly frustrating especially when I come to a thread that I want to reply to and then realise that I'm logged out again.

On the iPad it's signs me out everytime I go to another tab or close safari. Even though it supposed to stay logged in. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

3 RepliesEdited by ZER0COOL: 1/11/2013 8:48:38 PMI've pretty much figured out the Hashtag system, but like I said in a few post yesterday I feel like I'm missing Threads I would have been interested in before because I don't have a specific Hashtag followed. As for the way Threads flow, I'm starting to like it as long as I find it when It's first posted and stay current with it. If I jump into the Thread 200 post deep It's annoying, so being able to sort the Thread different ways would help. I like the whole comment or reply deal and the notifications are great. Overall I love the new site and can't wait to see our suggestions implemented.

If I have a notification, I can only make it go away by clicking it and viewing the posts. There should be a way to just eliminate all the notifications one at a time and/or all at once without viewing the posts. For instance, I went to my group and looked at a thread. I then noticed I had a notification, but I had already read the post in the thread. So I had to click the notification to see what I already saw to remove it.

What I can't get used to, is the inability to find old but popular threads in private groups and the fact that saved threads have dissapeared. You have more or less killed any RPT disscussions, and any stories that were being written. Other then that, I like it. I saved them for a reason dammit!

1 ReplyProbably already been said at least 1000 times, but posts need to go in chronological order and not reverse chronological order. I honestly can't fathom why reverse chronological would be used when you're trying to facilitate a discussion.

I am starting to like this layout. I like how we can customize our forum experience personally and everyone can be involved in every forum. It feels like everyone has an equal voice no matter what they want to say. One thing I am concerned about is the potential for NSFW images/videos to be posted and we don't know the source of the media before we click on it. Luckily I have no had a problem with that yet. I still am for the ability to join more groups because many still do not have public discussions. I feel that we are more involved in private groups but nothing is better than being an actual member.

Newest comments at that top is a weird adjustment. idk, I might not be the best dummie to comment to begin with, This is taking a lot for me to figure it all out. so I'll just know my role and say Turn Down The Suck!

You see how tags under the thread title are blue? Can tags made in replies be the same color? Right now, there's no visual indication that they're clickable.

The best way for myself to find new threads and participate in discussion so far has been using the Activity Feed, and I love it.

One possible thing. Will a brand new member see all the so called junk threads when they first log on? How about people who come to this site to browse for an answer and do not interact with the forums? As I am sure you have seen there are a few questionable threads being posted that would not fly in the old format. Just a thought.

the majority of the site is impressive but as a web designer myself the accessibility and user friendliness needs to be tweaked THE WHITE background has to go :) member ranks to be returned and pages reintroduced into topics. also if the author of a post or reply could be enlarged that would be great....loving it otherwise
