Bungie Weekly Update: 10/26/07
A couple of interesting developments in the Halo 3 world, including DLC, Banhammer and yes, Recon helmets.

i'm hoping for another map with elephant. need more than 3 maps for BTB. would be cool if they made a map like isolation with bases under ground but huge with the elephants able to go everywhere as opposed to being restricted to a circle as in sand trap [Edited on 10.27.2007 5:29 PM PDT]

I was in slayer when it happened with some friends but when we went to theatre it showed something completly different. The sticky went completly through his body and didn't stop. But when I went to view it for myself it the sticky just disappeard

Once again, I am pleading with someone, anyone who could possibly help me with this problem. I have the graduate pin. I have the Spartan Officer pin. I have the Spartan Officer achievement, and yet I am somehow missing the graduate achievement. I don't want the recon helmet (well... I do, but whatever). I just want everything on my game to work properly. I may be the only one who has encountered this problem, but I'd still like some tech support. Bungie's website refers me to the Xbox live tech support, and they refuse to help. I have a strange request, assuming that this is a functional fix. Can the Banhammer be used to remove my experience points, pins, and all multiplayer game data? If yes, hit me. Ohh, and I almost forgot to mention, as there are a lot of folk seem to think that you guys don't know what you're doin' here. Congratulations on creating the biggest media event in history (except the last Harry Potter book, but that doesn't count, because America isn't the most literate country in the world). I feel that it is well deserved. The bigger your audience the more abundant the complaints. It seems to follow that the better your game is, the more people will play it, the more people will complain about it. If you're one of those who elects to complain, know that you are in an amazing minority. If you are one of those who made Halo 3, you should remember that for every one of the people complaining there are at least 10,000 silent admirers. [Edited on 10.27.2007 5:24 PM PDT]

In response to that fusion coil kill video, yes it is awesome but it did happen many times in the beta simply because so many people tried to do it all the time. This reminds me of a beta story of mine where my friend sharp, was messing around and pushed me into the man cannon with a mongoose by beating it into me, and i got killed when i landed next to a bad guy who then teabagged me only to get lethally teabagged by a mongoose.

i like how bungie gives out recon armor for 2 people...now instead of being pissed of at just bungie, we can be pissed off at 2 in perticular. anyways, why when i get kicked off of a ghost am i crouched down and i can stand up regular until i respawn from dieing? will the new maps come with achievements? because the list set for halo 3 wouldnt take anyone longer than a few days if they really wanted to. give us something to work for, to show our progress, besides our military ranking. and is there any possiblity to not get crazy king so much? last night i played rumble pit and lones wolves and even if i didnt have to play it a lot, i had to veto it so many times it wasnt funny. why can we get some different games in lone wolves? odd ball you just camp behind shields, snowbound the same thing with the shotgun, isolation...just flat out sux, and crazy king has no real way of deffending urself for very long in the spots they are in.....and why am i a 41 in lone wolves and keep getting put up against 43-46s?

I'm still puzzled by this new ranking system. I can see how it would work for lone wolves or (if there was this gametype) head to head. But the idea of a team slayer, and all the other team gametypes is that you play as a TEAM and rank up as a TEAM. It makes no sense when we don't rank up after we have won over 10 matches in a row and completly dominate the other team. The ranking in Halo 2 was perfect (besides the obvious cheating). And why change the ranking now? Close to two months here and now the decision to change the ranking system, when so many others who are 40+ ranks and did not have to work at all to get the rank. And I know it takes no work because my friends are at that level now and they just won game after game after game. And after each game they leveled up. Halo 2's system was perfect before cheating came around because it actually took skill as a team to rank up. Should have kept it that way in my opinion.

Thank you Bungie for the amazing updates on all the different questions and comments made throughout the forums. It's really refreshing when a company actually pays attention to all the ideas, thoughts and topics from other people. I can't wait for the special Halloween goodies and I am so pumped for the new maps! Keep up the good work and as always, thanks for putting out such an amazing game that is SO much fun to play with family, friends and of course, online. :)

WOW i just saw that WMV and i dont understand why they cant make halo in to a movie.that whole thing just wowed me i had as much fun watching that short vid as i did watching the whole transformers moive and transformers is one badass moive.well they really need to show off those small videos so we could get a freaking well made movie.

Well Bungie, you don't want people cheating but still you make flawed gametypes that allow people to cheat. Like in Team Doubles I've met players that when they've gained the lead they kill themselves whenever they spawn. And due to the clever gametypes they don't get a -1 in kills. Which they should! And PLEASE make a playlist worth playing! Without the damn AR as spawning weapon. The game would be a whole lot more interesting with the BR as spawning weapon. The AR ain't a bad weapon (it's actually too good) but due to the flawed melee system it makes everything too damned frustrating! Another thing that really bothers me is that H3, in some ways messes up my connection. Sometimes when I play H3 I get thrown out from Live and my MSN crashes. Why I don't know but it have to do with H3, never happened before. And sometimes it messes up my whole internet connection so I have to reboot everything in order to make it work again. also what do they mean by community service i mean i am nice to everybody i play with but i dont understand how they would know about that i try to make maps that people will enjoy aswell as game types and other things but im still kinda confused
