Bungie Weekly Update: 10/12/07
A few tidbits regarding famous Ballers and armor permutations as we head into the weekend.

Can I make a request/suggestion? Could you make some type of "I'm here! Aim for the bright glowing/burning head to get a headshot!" for non-Bungie people? Like a bright blue aura or something around our heads? Either as DLC or a new achievement. I'd like to use something to make myself more of a target. It'd make some things tougher. I'm not the best nor am I close, but sometimes having a harder challenge is more fun. As for keeping things to yourself, go ahead. We can't stop you. I say keep yourselves special, especially for making such an amazing game. Good Job! If any of you would like to play sometime, just send me an invite, message, or friend request. Anyone really. I'd like to try to see how I compare to anyone from Bungie. If not, then I guess I'll just keep playing with everyone who I've been playing with. I'm looking forward to the future of Halo 3 (updates and such), as I'm sure anyone who is playing the game is as well. One last thing, how do the Commando Shoulders for the Elites get unlocked? I have the killing frenzy achievement, but no shoulders. I'm wondering, because I'm thinking of starting to switch between Spartan and Elite for each match, just to mix it up. I'd like to be able to have all current options available, but so far no luck. Thanks for making a great game! Here's to it's continued greatness!

ya it sucks we can't have the recon armour or the flaming heads thing but I like the armour I have right now it is just this why can't i unlock the final elite shoulder pads even though i have every achievement and every skull. do you have to be a certain online rank or what because i haven't gotten them yet.

Excellent job on the game Bungie. As for all the whiners...armor is armor..there are plenty of possibilities and combinations with the current armor, also they did make the game and have the right to present themselves online as a Bungie employee...also for those of you who see most of these comments as being rude...you're reading text off of a computer....its not the same as actually hearing a person speak where tones and expressions affect the way a statement sounds and is meant..so suck it up and don't take everything so seriously.. anyways cant wait for new maps already...will gladly pay

So since you guys are going to make new maps to play on are you going to make armor as well? I'm not talking about the Recon Armor and the Flames I'm saying NEW armor. It would be totally cool. another thing is, are you going to bring back the Covanent Spectre? And why can't you ride in the back of the carrier warthog? Just some things I have been thinking about other than that you guys did a really great job on the game.

I want to address a few things, though people wont read this or reply i'll treat it like thinking aloud. Gilbert(brilliant first name!) arenas, a basket ball player aparently?, cheated in social skirmish to get a rank which (he thought) suited his numerical rank(42!?) There is a number of things to remember here. 1.)He's an alledgedly famous basket bll player.And an adult he should know better. 2.)He personally sponsers the team Final Boss, who win (almost) everything at M.L.G.competions(So thats where the 42 cames from...........!) 3.)Who would you rather play a Lv42 gunnery sargeant = he's basically won every game to get to a 42,or a Lv42 major ,who's played 250+ games to get his number?.............. Gilbert LoL what a great name! there should be more Gilberts in the world.............................

Awww, why'd you have to say that the Recon armor was Bungie-employees only? Do you know how many years of fun you could have had by just giving out random hints like "try playing through The Ark with only a plasma pistol, and spin around three times every time you kill a Brute"? it would be kinda cool to get the helmet cuz it does look tite. but iread someone elses review and he said that mabye more would come in a update... so that would totally awesome. but still you guys already forgot about h2 where we all had the helmets. anywayz bungie cant t wait for the new maps. when will they be realesed again?

I would take it if I could get it too, but have you read the responses that people gave because they couldn't have it. Still no revelation as to why they nixed the XBL Public feature. Why do the continuously avoid answering this question? Without a substantial friend's list, your unable to play Custom, Forge, and Co-Op games online. That right there substantially hinders the enjoyment that can be had in Halo 3. I respect the matchmaking system, but like a lot of gamers, I don't have a huge friend's list. And because I'm unable to fully experience Halo 3 in it's entirety, this is one gamer that (almost) regrets his purchase.

i don't see why you guys at bungie just make the Rcon armor available for a downloadable purchase. if so many people want, why not make a buck off the thing? p.s. and once they do have it downloaded make it super impossible to unlock it in the game, that would be the biggest slap in the face to all those whiners XD.

About the Gilbert Arenis thing, this is really going to have an effect on his fans. Kids look up to him and if they find out he's cheating, it will change the way they think of him and hurt his reputation. Now EXP isn't all that big of a deal. The only reason I'd care about EXP is for the achievements (and if you look at my gamertag, you can tell I'm crazy for them). And plus if he was going to cheat he might as well found a better way to do it. Exposion like that isn't a lucky strike lol. And to the story regarding the Recon permutation, deal with it. I want to flaming head just as much as the next guy but it seems like Bungie is pretty set on keeping it staff only and making you guys envy them even more. Even though it does kind of make you look like Ghost Rider... I think we should just settle for what we have. But an even better idea is - if Bungie is reading this - to make more armors available for download in the Bungie Favorites list. That would really make players happy knowing that they have new characters to look like. I know I love my Hayabusa. Speaking of Hayabusa, I have a little problem with my profile with not being updated and all. I'm just curious about something. Does your profile only become viewable if you are able to go on Xbox Live? Because none of my progress or appearance has been updated on the site and I really like looking at how cool I am. They may have it downloaded from somewhere that's not possible to access except for employees... I wouldn't count on it. Besides, the helmet is pretty badass but I don't envy them in a game of shotty snipers.

Assuming these Bugie employees have the same copy of Halo 3 and no downloaded content needed to unlock this helmet it will only be a matter of time before a modder figures out the combination in the menu or w/e to unlock it.

bungie, i physically want to say sorry for every person that has talked trash to you guys on live. i dont get it. people are just ungrateful. you give them an amazing game, and they end up disrespecting you later when playing the game. but then again, i hope you ban hammered his ass back to the stone age. ungrateful bastard.
