The Official and Only Halo 3 User-Created Gametypes/Maps Thread

In addition to our Files forums (located [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/default.aspx?mode=halo3]here[/url]), I'm creating a thread here on the Official Halo 3 Forum to serve as a catch-all for gametypes and map variants ONLY, that have been created by the community. The hope here is that this will be used as a resource and and archive of created games and map variants from the Community. This is NOT a place to discuss the quality of an author's work or offer suggestions, do that in the links the authors will provide for their gametype/map variants. This is ONLY for collecting the gametypes. Here's the format for posting, (I've bolded ONLY for the purpose of making the text stand out in this wall of text, please refrain from bolding in your posts) all posts in this thread that violate the post format will be deleted by the moderators. [b][url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=13209070]Rebound, a Re-imagination of Snowbound[/url] Designed with Symmetrical-arena style slayer play in mind, Rebound takes elements of Snowbound that previously turned the map into an interior camping battle, like the Shotgun, and awards both teams a Shotgun in their respective bases. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. [/b] [i]How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3. Create post in this thread, and link to the Map variant and Gametype at the Publish to Forums link here [this way players can easily click those links and download your gametypes. 4. Create a well-written explanation of changes made to the map and if necessary a description of the gametype you've created, including ideal number of players, number of teams (if necessary) and any other relevant information.   • PREDATORS Based on the 2010 movie of the same name, this gametype is Infection, with a twist. The Predator players are classed as the humans, which means if they are killed the Predator stays dead and yet another human player joins the battle. The human players are classed as the infected, once a human player eliminates a Predator player, the Predator player joins the human ranks. I wanted to encourage stealthy gameplay for the Predator players (technically the humans) by reversing the gametype, another way I decided to do this was give the Predator players non-recharging shields, once they take damage the only way to get some shields back is to cause damage to the human players (100% Shield Vampirism). The Predator players start with Good Camo, an Energy Sword (Wristblades) and a Spartan Laser (Plasmacaster). The human players (the infected) can gain lost shields by causing damage to the Predator players, a kind of adrenaline burst (25% Shield Vampirism), but they also have slowly recharging shields (50% slower). The human players are placed onto the map with an Assault Rifle and a Shotgun. For this gametype to work, 25% of the players spawn in as the Predators. There is no time-limit. [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116821761]PREDATORS Gametype[/url] GAME RESERVE The base map for this forged map is Valhala, the Edited map itself is based on the planet from the 2010 movie; Predators. The changes to the map include; weapon placement / removal, spawn point placement / removal / relocation, scenery removal / relocation / creation and vehicle removal. The highlights of the map include the two bases, previously used as start points for the two teams the two bases are now for decoration, and shelter. The base near the sea acts as the Predator camp, and is where the Predator players spawn into the game. The Predator camp is decorated with radio antennae, Weapon holders, Energy Swords and three Drop Pods to make it appear alien. The other base (close to the waterfall) is a desolate human hideout which is mysteriously closed up after a certain amount of time, get in, explore, and get out quick to avoid being trapped. The map features a wreckage of a human camp with various ammunition supplies and some cover. The turrets here have been placed awkwardly deliberately to avoid turret-spam and should only be considered decoration. Weapons on the map for the human players are almost directly in front of the starting points, lined up on the grass in the middle of the map. These include; Battle Rifles, SMGs, Sniper Rifles and a Heavy Machine Gun, plus some extra ammunition for your two starting weapons. There are hidden weapons and equipment on the map, these include; two low-ammo Rocket Launchers, a Brute Shot (Grenade Launcher), multiple Magnums, an Energy Sword (Predator Wristblades/Katana), a Trip-Mine and a Flare.   • I have put together the [b]most advanced cannon[/b] ever constructed in the history of Halo 3. After hours of studying aerospace engineering, I have modified the launch design for optimal hang time. But when the ground eventually comes, be prepared for another little boost that has to do with rocket science. Some of the things that happen when you use this cannon are just unimaginable. I never had any idea a mongoose could fly in the air for 49 seconds... Just give it a shot and you may soon know as I do.   • the game mode is called beserker and the map is called gears of war. i don't know how you would find it but i might put it in my file share sometime but the beserker goes in the chopper and tries to splatter all of the humans. each human has one life and they have to try to get to the end to get the custom powerup at the end that lets be able to take out the beserker with a spartat lazer that is also next to the powerup. charge up your shot and go BOOM! and thats that

  • This map has been remade quite a few times, and i believe that this is the final one: [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=115060494&fset=121614]Sean's House 2[/url] with this gametype: [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=105771936&fset=121614]Lamb Chops[/url] I'll start with [u]setup[/u] of this game; the zombies have to be set for the number of players. The zombies are charging the humans, and there can only be a maximum of 4 humans. It can be played with 3 to 12 players. With three players, 2 zombies. With 4; 3 zombies, 5; 3 or 4 zombies, 6; 4 zombies; etc. up until 12 players, with 4 humans maximum in a game. The humans should spawn by the house, the zombies should spawn on the middle floor. Now, the [u]description[/u] of the map. The [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116972518]zombies charge on mongeese towards the house,[/url] where the humans defend from the two gauss warthogs, and two tanks. The humans die easily,and move slowly, so once the zombies reach them they have little hope,and will not survive outside of the base, creating a tower defense style game. The [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116972751]zombies spawn below the map,[/url] and cannot enter for 10 seconds, in order to allow the humans time to enter their vehicles. Once they do, they are teleported to a protected area with 8 mongeese, and must charge down the map, and try to pass the tanks. The humans do little damage, so the best option is to knock the drivers off, but they can kill a zombie easily enough, so walking is not a good tactic. Once they reach [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116972922]the house,[/url] they can enter through the front door, and pick up a flamethrower in the center, or head left or right up to the tanks. They can also explode the fusion coils to launch up to the tanks faster. If the humans commit suicide they spawn in the center of the house, so they are easy to kill, so suicide is never a good option. [u]Other details:[/u] Both teams spawn with swords. The only other weapon on the map is the flamethrower. If tanks or warthogs backup they commit suicide.

  • ima bit new to the hole xbox live i normally play ps3 online but i got so tired of the host migration on mw2 so i went to xbox but getting past that my friend and me im not sure but it was a big platform it would hang over a valley where u fall off u die and each round point is based on the winner there were also vehicles a few brute choppers based on your spawn point some ghosts also based on where u spawned and i think the warthogs i thnk those are the jeeps havent played it in a while but game type is monster jams haha notour best named but the game its self was fun u never knew what was coming next o also almost forgot as a spartan u spawn with grav hammer elite u spawn with energy sword once again first time having an account on my own wish me luck if you like the game type send me a request my id is t0xic l0v3 1018 and again thanks for hearing me out if u liked the sound of it and i apoligize if i dont add you right away im havin trouble gettin money so i dnt have a 360 right now but will soon and any requests i have i will add you thanks later

  • Map: Left For Dead 2 Game type: LFD (infection game mode, HIGHLY RECOMMEND) Recommended players: 4-12 you start out as a group of people trapped in a room with a zombie sitting in the room right next you. While the zombie is trying to break out of his imprisonment (should take about 30 seconds) your job is to make it through the maze with your team, while breaking down barriers that block your progression. At the end of the maze is a weapon cache that has weapons powerful enough to fight off the zombies. The fun part of this map is fear that comes from knowing that a powerful zombie is always on your trail and might just be around the corner at any moment. It really does lead to some intense and fearful moments of gameplay. the left for dead part of title comes from the fact that you might only be able to chip off a very little piece of a wall causing only a few of the skilled players to be able to make it through a hole, thus leaving your other player for dead.   • [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116563753]fort map[/url] it's a plain and simple fort map so don't expect much, note: the map is a little scruffy and theres no spawn locations atm, it's just a bit of forge practice that turned out well compared to my other stuff, feel free to edit it out and add spawn points. use it as any varient you wish, i reccommend infection. it's just a basic map layout which can be edited by noob forgers like me to make a fort. comes with 2 interior floors and a rooftop floor and an exterior with vehacles and crates as a backdrop. created a table and a bed on the ground floor for people who want to turn it into a house. with several weps scattered around.   • This map is the latest in a series of maps I've done. They're all free for all slayer based maps that are either created out of boredom, or to try out new concepts. It plays best for slayer, most likely free for all, probably 8 players maximum. It is equipped for most other gametypes, but I cannot guarantee that they will work properly. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to test it as many times as I would like, but I'm pretty confident in it. This map was created as an experiment in implementing moving scenery, and attempting more of a theme in the map. The map has a spiraling structure from top to bottom, and is covenant based on one side, and human based on the other. Key attributes include: [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116533402]The Piston Room[/url] - Which includes four bouncing blocks in the floor, which can cause damage to players, or act as cover. It also houses two raised catwalks which lead to the next floor, and add a tactical advantage. [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=116605977]The Boiler Room[/url] - Which lies below the pistons, and provides control over them. Players can drop the pistons, lowering cover, as well as possibly killing players when they finally shoot back up. (Sorry for the bad picture) Other attributes include: Man cannons that lift you to the top, a sword room, that drops into the piston room, chutes from the sword room to the boiler room, and a two level base at the very top. The budget caused me to limit weapons, so the level has some moderate weapons, but is mostly based around the sword, flame thrower, shotgun, and a secret sentinel beam.   • Gametype: [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?h3fileid=114319593]vampire slayer[/url] [u]DESCRIPTION[/u] Vampire Slayer (i know very creative) is a Slayer-based gametype with the main tweaks being Vampirism set to 25% and Headshot-only scorings. It still needs some tweaks but it is in the beta stage and also the first gametype i've ever created. Please feel free to improve it by commenting on the link posted above or writing a PM. Players spawn with infinity pistols, non-regenrative shields and regenerative grenades. I intented to allow grenade-only pickups and forging some maps in order to fit this but as it isn't possible to only pick up grenades this failed. Shields and Damage are set so that while being fully shielded, 4 headshots with a pistol or 2 grenades most likely are going to kill you. A Headshot with the pistol does something like 22% damage to your shields and a frag grenade exploding right in front of you around ~60%. The only vehicles enabled are mongooses as they don't kill you when being hit and fit the purpose of bringing you from A to B most. Gravity affection is set to or 150% and speed to 125%. This change was made to increase the difficulty of scoring headshots as the pistol is fairly accurate and also makes it harder to place a proper grenade because of the enemy being faster and less predictable with his jumps. Killing sprees earn you +1 points. So far, thats all. Thanks for reading!

  • INTRO: Okay a few nights ago i couldn't fall asleep at all, so I started thinking about halo maps. Some how robot chicken got into my thoughts, I don't watch it my friend talks about it, then I started thinking about how boy scouts help elderly cross streets.(random things i think of when i'm bored.) Soon I got a great idea for a forge map, so i made this. It was originally something like a blind grandma crossing a street, but i couldn't find out what to name it. One of my friends joined the party and started talking about fried chicken, so i named it chicken ran on cross da street. RULES (easy to follow): The purpose of the game is for the chicken/grandma, whatever you want to call it, to cross the street without getting splattered by the people in the warthogs and mongeese. If the chicken reaches the other side he/she gets a custom powerup and rockets to kill the people in warthogs/mongoose. (there had to be some way to win right?) Non-chickens may not take custom power up or the game is not fun. I found out you can simply kill chicken with guns you have, gunna change that. Before I do fix the game though I want you guys to comment on it/ give me ideas on how to fix it.   • Lost Crypt A small close quarters map for 2-8 players in the sandbox crypt. Has two bases that open up to a rectangular arena with hallways and two rooms. It is unique in that the rectangular arena has an underground area that you have to crouch through which can be used for ambushing or escaping other players. This map is for FFA, Team Slayer, and Lichnaut.   • Gametype: Predator (based on the film) Description: Infection game with one zombie as the Predator. They have good camo, a spartan laser, energy sword, non-recharging shields, little faster speed, and little less gravity. Players are unchanged with AR's and magnums. 1 life per round, 1 point for killing zombie, 0 points for killing humans (so the winner will be the one who kills the Predator the most). For use on "The Hunt" map variant. Map: The Hunt (Ghost Town variant) Description: A Predator's weakness is fire so use firebombs and tripmines to set a trap for the Predator to kill him. Scavenge weapons leftover from past squads around the map to give a little extra help in surviving the hunt. Hint: I have made this custom game myself and is on my file share.   • Maze Master Ok to be honest it isn't a true maze, but it has two bases and a disorienting set of paths and walls. Teleporters in the corners lead to the surface where supplies spawn after 3 minutes of gameplay.   • my map WRONG TURN and its game var. WRONG TURN plays out there are seven mongoose drivers and one sniper the object of the game is to get to the end of the track(if your on the mongooses) and take out the sniper with your hornet thats if you can survive the tracks deadly decoy turns....vise versa if your the sniper you just have to kill the 7 other people before they get you....   • some kind of realistic game mode where the score to win would be very high, like 100. of course then the players die faster and weapons and ammo are more rare on the map. the maps would have more cover so that you dont just run in and get shot and would have no power weapons like sniper rifles, spartan lasers or rocket launchers. the player has no shields, runs a bit faster, has some extra damage resistance and starts with an SMG. also you could base maps off of real battles like D-Day and such, which would be an interesting experience on last resort on the beach. i know this sounds like team swat some, but would be a lot more... entertaining.
