is there any way to start out with a cleared map with nothing but a spawn point on it? or do we have to clear the maps manually? cause i don't want to spend half my time clearing out the map thats not much fun

Having some trouble with Forge. I want to play a game of KotH while in Forge, I change the gametype as a monitor to KotH, the map restarts with the hill markers, but how do I get the hills to start their rotation/play the game? I don't want to save the map and play it in Customs, I want to be able to play KotH on the fly with a friend editing/creating my own weapons/vehicles as we go. Is this not possible? I thought Forge kept track of the progress of the game? Any help?

yes forge probbably the best aspect of H3 i love spawning a flamethrower and rampaging around the map and turning into the monitor and still carry it wher ever i want and i love making tracks and other fun objective games on Last Resort formerly known as Zanzibar to those who didn't kno that b4 so friend invite me or send me a message when im online and ill show you my race maps and you can save them i really dont care
Posted by: hellotimebomb I also want to know how to do this. I noticed on the Rocket Race Variant of Sandtrap there is a VIP score point that is floating in mid air. I can't seem to make any of the others do this.
lukems you think in the podcast you guys could tell? i want to do it too (i got my powerups to float like an inch off the ground... but nothing to the extent of the checkpoint)

I want to know if you can place objects in mid air and have them STAY there.

i can't wait for all the Chiron TL34 map variants. teleporter tomfoolery will abound!

THERRE ALL THE SAME....... BUT FORGE WILL RULE AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very cool [:D] I can't wait to see what everyone does with Forge.
Posted by: prodidgy nick07 if anyone knows the answer to this will you reply me, but is forge also going to be in ranked matches
No, Forged maps aren't going to be available for ranked games. They did say that there is the potential for popular/innovative map permutations to be assimilated into the matchmaking playlists though. [Edited on 09.22.2007 11:07 PM PDT]

The limiteless possibilities of forge and live editing have the potential to put Matchmaking games on the back burner for a lot of players [Edited on 09.22.2007 6:21 PM PDT]

I Love making maps in half-life and this looks like a great map editor for a console good goob. Its nice to see this! more games should have one of these.
-
Everything on forge seems fricken amazing but i was wondering if u could set up spawn points for, nuetral/enemy characters, like 10 jackels all by the spawn points of players and u need to fight that 1st or brute with anyother type of char. that would be amazing and make maps incrediblely hard and fun. Bungie we can't thank you enough for making such an amazing game. The endless game variations we will be able to play will keep us loving this game for years! [Edited on 09.21.2007 9:44 AM PDT]

For the teleporters, people are just gonna do a constant circle of teleporters. For example: sender 1 is placed in area A. Reciever 1 is placed in area B. Sender 2 is place in area B right infront of Reciever 1 and Reciever 2 is place right behind Sender 1. Holy cwap! did that make sense? yeh so, the moment someone enters Sender 1 or 2, they will never be rid of it until they place a grenade infront of them selves and hope on their next trip coming back, they get killed. LOL! wierd thinkin, huh. respect, peace out zaeet [Edited on 09.20.2007 3:57 PM PDT]

My huge question: Can respawn points be created in mid-air? I was just thinking of creating an ODST gametype and thought that since spawn points aren't objects, they should be able to float. I'd love to be able to put teleporters up in the air, but spawn points? Please?
-
hmmm...placing hidden power wepons on maps...then owning friends...only you know where they are, hehehe
-
Teleporters....sweet. I'll be sure to test it on a rock first!
-
Man... I've got like 10 gametypes to make on Tuesday before I can even play 5 came from ideas I thought of while reading one of these three articles.
Posted by: BASILIEUS Look, all you damn people who think zombies and stupid game types are good, ruined this game because they fricking listened to you and added it to the game, wtf?! Zombies in Halo?!??! Who the -blam!- thought of this idea??? You added so much -blam!- to this game it became a mind -blam!-. Simplicity is the sign of perfection. Think of that next time you make a game and hype the -blam!- out of it. You -blam!- and destroyed halo. BTW: oMg LaST PossT!~@!~! Lokk AT me!! eleven!!2`1!1`21 tweleve..`12!@#
Hey douche, if you don't want to play zombies, you don't have to. Were you under the impression that you had to play zombies when you played Halo 3? That's actually not the case. See, that's called an option or a choice. You get a lot of those in Halo 3. Obviously your brain can't handle lots of options, or perhaps you have trouble making decisions. I know I do sometimes. Just play campaign on easy, it will make a lot of decisions for you.

I can just imagine the possibilities.... Either run their flag around the map... or have a 50% chance to teleport a safe distance from their base, a 25% chance to teleport into the opposing team's away spawn, and a 25% chance of getting teleported in front of those automated map boundary turrets. Play Elimination with randomized teleporter hijinks. Everyone spawns one at a time into a teleporter that has, say, 5 exits... One of the teleporters is an endless loop... spawn at the side of a hill or something; slide into the entrance; and go back to the top. Another is an exit into a box where a scorpion spawns overhead. Another could be some type of teleport to a Rube Goldberg Machine, limited only by the budget and probably some unforeseen Forge limitations. I can only imagine what else I could make on Halo 3 now... Gravity fed puzzles, "Vote and/or Die," make the face of Richard Nixon from like Mongooses. Oh, a few questions: Can I place teleporters on top (or more appropriately inside) of each other; as in, making you telefrag yourself and/or someone else? Is the teleporter exit chosen randomly when you enter it, or is it on a timer? Like if the chosen teleporter exit is blocked, does it choose an open exit; or does it say "teleporter exit is blocked?" Forge reminds me of how much I loved playing Garry's Mod. [Edited on 09.20.2007 8:54 AM PDT]
Posted by: HBMETRO this is too complex, im just gonna play multiplayer.
One person doesn't like it and thinks it's too complex, I guess Forge should be scrapped.
