UPDATE:BREAKING BENJAMIN, BLOW ME AWAY
Alright. Just for starters, before any of all ya say anything, I am completely aware that these finds may merely be coincidences. And to diffuse any predicted arguments, I’ll just try to blow ‘em away right here and now.
Yes, I know. Breaking Benjamin isn’t a Christ based group. My answer to that is that they might not even know what they are singing. They could have been given lyrics to follow by bungie, or they could have been given instruction as to what theme to write.
Eh…. Can’t think of anything else to consider. Got beef? Ask away. In the mean time… on with the theory!
Reviewing the lyrics, I have come to the notion that the song is a parallel to what Jesus went through on His last few hours in Jerusalem. That is, before He was crucified. I will try to reveal as much as I can as best I can. Anything in white is a select verse in question. Anything in red are the Words of Jesus. Anything in yellow are my words/annotations. Scripture that isn’t a Jesus quote will be…. Underlined. “[!]” Means I’m sure it means something, but I am too tired to see it.

John 9:39
Then Jesus told him, “I have come to judge the world. I have come to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are really blind.”
No time to lose
We’ve got to move
Mark 14:50
Meanwhile, all his disciples deserted him and ran away.
Steady your hand
I am losing sight again
-Ahem- John 9:39
Fire your guns
Its time to run
Blow me away
I will stay unless I may
John 14:36
”Abba, Father”he said,”everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will, not mine.”
Basically, He’s afraid to die on the cross, but He knows that it will save millions of people. He will stay on less He may.
After the fall
(many refer to the first sin of Adam and Eve as "the fall" or “the fall of man”)
We’ll shake it off
(The fall of man was cleansed by the death of Christ. After 3 days, He shook off the payment of sin (death))
Show me the way
John 14:6
Jesus told him,”I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me…”
only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven when we die
Again, Jesus is The Way into Heaven’s gates… Unless you lived a perfect life.
I have a shadow on the wall
Hebrews 8:5
They serve in a place of worship that is only a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. For when Moses was getting ready to build the Tabernacle, God gave him this warning: “Be sure that you make everything according to the design I have shown you here on the mountain.”
I’ll be the one to save us all
.....think about it....
There’s nothing left [!]
So save your breath [!]
Lying and wait
Mathew 26:3-4
At that time the leading priests and other leaders were meeting at the residence of Caiaphas, the high priest, to discuss how to capture Jesus secretly and put him to death.
Caught inside this tidal wave[?]
You’re covers blown
No where to go
Holding your fate [!]
Knowing that I will walk alone
Fire your guns
Its time to run
Blow me away
Mathew 26: 46-51,56
”Up, let’s be going. See, my betrayer is here!” And even as he said this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, arrived with a mob that was armed with swords and clubs. They had been sent out by the leading priests and other leaders of the people. Judas had given them a prearranged signal: “You will know which one to arrest when I go over and give him a kiss of greeting.” So Judas cam straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Teacher!” he exclaimed and gave him a kiss.
Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.” Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. One of the men with Jesus pulled out a sword and slashed off an ear of the high priest’s servant.
"...But this is all hapenning to fulfill the the words of the prophets as recorded in the scriptures." At that point, all the disciples deserted him and fled.
Whew, I think that covered all of the lyrics without doubling over. What do all y’all think?
