Does Bungie.next support HTML5?

I just curious, will the new website we keep hearing about supports the latest version of HTML 5? Also, I would like to ask the reason behind the using of HTML 5 if it not so discreet to share.

 •
Posted by: PsychoTEX Geez I hope it doesn't. The Waypoint website is a joke because of it. SO slow.
I just went to that site. It is a terrible website. Here's two websites using HTML5; they should load really fast and you should see some elegant animations. Although that depends on your web browser. I recommend Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari (for Mac).
