First Strike
What is the covenants "great journey" and why do they need relics like the blue crystal, that made it impossible for the Gettysburg to jump through slipspace? Dr. Halsey said if the covenant get their hands on the blue crystal that they can jump through slip space much faster. why?
Also at the end of the book, Cortana said they only had 35 hours until they would reach Earth. Is the new armor on the earth? or will there be a little side mission for the MC to get the armor? Either way we know he gets to Earth because of last years E3 demo. But we also know he gets to Earth after the Covenant because of the announcement trailer. The book lets us know that they are ahead of the Covenant in the race to Earth. They are pretty sure the covenant know about Earth, so this means he must have a side mission to attend to in getting the armor. Will there be another book or a movie to explain this?
So MANY questions that need to be answered.
Anybody have any insight???

Many people have different theories on what the Covenants "goal" really is I've posted some of my thoughts I suggest you draw your own conclsions like me and many otheres have down. The blue crystal or artifact can manipulate time and space around it and therefore the Covenant would be able to use it to their advantage. Last but not least I think that Halo 2 will start off with a little intro for what has happend from the events after Halo's destruction and MC's expeariences back to earth. Then you will start off perhaps in a lab being tested in your new armour by either other spartans or ONI spooks. Which would be good way to get used to your contorls, plus there has been talk of a obsticle course at the beginning of the game which again enforces the fact that you will start on earth or a inhabiting planet.
