These are good podcasts, but they aren't so regular anymore. What's up with that?

You guys were talking about having a "humpday" the day before release. I will be playing the day before because I'm in New Zealand. Timezones Rule! Anyways i was hoping to play the genius creators of such a great game. I should be on about 1pm on the 24th in America, but officially the 25th here. Hope to survive at least 5 minutes if i do play you guys. : )
-
1. i believe you can still make game variants the traditional way, b/c forge is just a way to change the enviornment, not the rules of the game. and 2. what you do in forge is saveable, that way you can save the map variants then play them later. question: if i wanted to make a floating platform out of crates, say 50ft in the air, will the crates stay there or once i stop tinkering will they just fall down?
-
I've got a couple of questions: is forge the only way to create custom games, or is there also a Traditional (as in, similar to Halo 1 and Halo 2) method of creating custom games? And do you have to play in Forge to play Forge-created content? That is, If I were to put a crate in the mid air on valhalla with a sniper rifle and a...uh say a Fuel Rod Cannon/Gun, would I only be able to play that in Forge, or would I be able to play that in the normal game as well?

A very interesting show, this week! Forge and Rare have finally come to an understanding with one another. Good luck, guys, on gettin' rid of Cartalk, as well as any other show that stands in your way. Step it up! [Edited on 08.30.2007 5:45 AM PDT]

What tricks are you guys going to do in Forge?
-
When I first saw the "Forgetacular" title for the podcast, I read it as "Forget-tacular" instead of "Forge-tacular." Very different meanings lol! I was like, "aw manz teh podcast is teh suckzorz noooo..." Then I re-read, and was glad to be wrong.
-
Posted by: Gamaliel I might not be the first to say so, but I thought the headline was "forget-tacular" until after I listened. dur.
LOL your not alone buddy. Seems like Luke is planning some sort of cheap Forge revenge match against Shoe and Mark. Can't wait for the rematch between Ziff and Bungie.
Posted by: AnalogWeapon
Posted by: Dream053 Only thing I didn't like was the quality/filter used on the recording. It sounded almost like a mild version of one of the effects used on Elite characters were used on your voices... I'm not sure if that is due to equipment limitations or what... but it was sometimes distracting to me.
I don't think that's an effect, per-se. It just sounds like the mics were set up a little too far from the speakers, the room's walls were really reflective, and/or there was a mic picking up too much of the room sound. As an audio engineer that struck me right away too. I could still here everyone fine, so no big deal, imo.
Oh, yeah that's why I mentioned equipment limitations (and subsequently, any set-up limitations or problems), wasn't outright saying it was an effect. Just, personally... it was a little distracting. Probably because I'm into audio production as well, so those kinds of things don't go unnoticed. But yes, ultimately I could understand them just fine. Just a personal preference thing.

Very funny (Whether intentional or not).
Posted by: Dream053 Only thing I didn't like was the quality/filter used on the recording. Thanks for another interesting podcast, guys!

It's ironic that at 20:25 Bungie mentions Humpday challenges and playing PMS Clan just two weeks after making the long withheld announcement that Halo 3 does not support Clans. Very ironic Indeed. Gaming_Communities_Want_Clan_Support_on_XBLive_before_Sept_25_200 Halo_3_Clan_Support_And_Longevity http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=12383698&postRepeater1-p=1 http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=12282064&postRepeater1-p=1

I appreciate that it's called the Forge-tacular -or- The Forget-acular. You've forgotten us, Bungie? A shame. Nah, I'm just gettin' on yo nurvs Bungicles. Love ya!

Great podcast. Great info. :D
-
Sort of an abrupt ending this episode - no time to spare for the readings of the random fan mail? As soon as the theme music played again at the end, I stuck around for the super-secret super sauce, but this time there wasn't any :( Overall nice, though. I particularly liked the part about being able to swoop down on people with a teleporter entrance, and make them reappear from the teleporter exit into a wasteland of despair. The bottomless pit also sounded potentially awesome.

Great podcast, I now understand forge very well and my mind is going wild, I better write down all my Ideas. Cant wait till the 25th : ) oh and the Beheamoth sounds 100 times better than elephant. [Edited on 08.29.2007 5:51 AM PDT]
