Halo 2 Piracy
Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station.
Members of the Bungie community - we need your help. The Underground Army is being called into action; this is not a drill. Anyone who has information regarding the leak of the game or individuals or websites promoting the download of these illegal files is asked to please contact us by sending email to [b]piracy@microsoft.com[/b] or calling 1-800-RULEGIT. We also ask that you help us minimize the spoilers for those opting to wait for the retail release by refraining from posting screens, talking about the story and deleting any such posts you encounter. Many of you have already been actively tracking down and forwarding links to us and we thank you for your help.

this pirated copy isnt on PC. i know someone who found it and he says its only for the xbox's that have the mod chip. the funny thing is , is that it is only in french, and the subtitles are only on cinematics, so you cant understand what you are being told to do. TAKE THAT YOU -blam!- PIRATES!!!!!!!!!!!

u know what ? ever since i got my xbox when it first came out with halo, when i beat halo i knew from that day that there was going to be a second halo. i;ve been waiting for soooooo long and for someone to just make a pirated copy really pisses me off. i hope i can do anything to help u hard working guys and find out whoever did this

This disgusts me!... People have been working so hard on this game (Thanks Bungie), and people have been looking forward to it for so long. Its hard for me to believe how dumb and rude some people are. Im sorry Bungie, this happened to you (you dont deserve it), and thank you for all your hard work with this game and for doing such a great job to keep it a secret.

Hey Sketch and Bungie, i now were to fid this guys! See on www.xboxcr.com after the Intro in the Main Page, the Mod says that he is selling Halo 2. There are mamy satisfy custumers. The only problem is that this web page is in spanish. But after that, you will find the guy very easy.

I was just at a store in the mall and they were playing halo 2, i thought it was the beta, i stayed for hours playin until i was the only1 left and i ejected the cd, seeing there is non proving they had a pirated version. if any bungieand microsoft workers wanna kno the details ill tell u them all.

Well thats just sad. I can't belive it, i have been waiting with the whole world for Halo 2 to come out, and now the waiting is ruined. That person who leaked the copy of Halo 2 should go to jail. who ever it is, they greatly upset me.

To find the people who have it and are sharing it, Microsoft will need to go onto eMule, search for it or goto www.shareconnector.com and search for it there and click on the link. When Microsoft starts to download it, they can see who they're downloading off. So them they just get their IP address, email their ISP and tell them to tell the user that they've been caught sharing copies of one of their games. That's teh only way i can think of them doing it. Strange that Microsoft would be downloading one of their own games, hehehe. Well, i hope you catch those stupid frenchies that leaked it out. If people get caught with it, they can face an unlimited fine and goto jail i think. I hate people who download games, taking away all that hard work the companies have put into it. Music... I think it can be alright cos it costs what, £1 to make the CD and what do they sell it for, eh. Yup. make loadsa money. But games are more than music, so they should be taken more seriously, especially halo 2!!!!! burn stupid frenchies that pirated it!

OK I'm not condoning the leak but lets get real. 1.5 million pre - orders, + xbox live subscriptions, a finished product but not in stores. I personally feel this is just a publicity stunt. If the french are responsable for the leak what are you (bungie) doing in France? I am assuming it is an American based company and serves you right for taking jobs to other countries.

The game (that was leaked) was in french, but it doesn't matter because the xbox has subtitles. My friends at school back the creaters at bungie, and we had a disscussion about it and we will keep an eye and ear out for anything suspicious, but halo 2 isn't the only one to be pirated lately. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was also leaked. Is it possible that the latest rash of piracies are connected? I guess some people can't wait for games to come out and ruin the suspence for everyone.....
