Halo 2 Piracy
Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station.
Members of the Bungie community - we need your help. The Underground Army is being called into action; this is not a drill. Anyone who has information regarding the leak of the game or individuals or websites promoting the download of these illegal files is asked to please contact us by sending email to [b]piracy@microsoft.com[/b] or calling 1-800-RULEGIT. We also ask that you help us minimize the spoilers for those opting to wait for the retail release by refraining from posting screens, talking about the story and deleting any such posts you encounter. Many of you have already been actively tracking down and forwarding links to us and we thank you for your help.

i found a torrent file of the halo thingie. i sent an email to microsoft already. its http://www.torrentreactor.net/torrents/view_32335 if theres bungie people online that can go to it n do w/e there gonna do to it. but since its a torrent file theres lots o people that got some of it. my friend says people can add games directly to the xbox hdd. maybe thats how they do it or they burn it to a disk and play it on a modded xbox... anyways hope this helps

If people want to help Bungie by tracking down sites that are sponsoring downloads, let them. Especially for a company that will be giving so much back to the community for free. I agree with Smish to a degree...the whole ordeal of sitting on the forum for the sole purpose of saying the word "bastard" over and over and making promises that you really can't back up is almost ineffective. However, the news about Halo 2 being pirated was released by Bungie, they wouldn't screw over their fans and send them on a wild goose hunt, so there's a real story behind all this. If you are serious about finding links to a pirated version, get out there and search, don't post them here...send them to the correct address.

Man, why would somebody do this, the game is a month away, so they decide to possible hold it off longer because somebody desperately wanted a French version. I will personally see to it that you die a horrible death. rftd

Truthfully, if you really want to save the game for yourself all you really have to do is ignore the people who are offering the game to you early. Some people think that having it this early makes a difference. Wheras I believe that the hype surrounding Halo 2 isn't neccessarily about who gets it first. I think the real fun and excitement will be all the people playing on Xbox Live on November 9th....the calls and conversations friends will have between each other about the single player...the LAN parties that will go on between friends and "enemies". To have the game this early....I dunno, it would be more dissappointing to me. The game is 75% of the excitement, the rest is about who's playing it with you and the connection you get. But that's all in my opinion...
