Great update, guys! I hate sounding like a broken record, but I can't wait for Halo 3!!! :) I just hope I get a chance to play when my pre-order comes in the mail. I have a new baby daughter (first born) and it's extremely difficult to get any game time in. (She's worth it, though). I'm really looking forward to the Co-op! I enjoy that WAY more than vs. MP. This is going to be really cool. :) Thank you for the info about the video calibration tools. I'm running a Mitsubishi 52725 DLP HDTV and I'm constantly blindly changing various video levels. It will be good to finally have a Hi-Def calibration tool (that actually runs on the 360) and I know I'll be sending off for the blue piece of plastic :) I've seen that option on some of my DVDs, but having never had the filter, I've been unable to take advantage of it. Those that are unhappy with playing as Elites, suck it up, girlscouts. For all you know, maybe if you beat the game on certain difficulties you can unlock new people to play as if you're not first player. Even if that's not in there, it's gonna be fun, a lot of fun. Adding unlockables would only be one more new addition to the Halo trilogy, though I don't find it necessary, especially given there is oonly about a month left to work on this thing, maybe less. I wonder, what's it like there Bungie, are you guys really nervous like right before a race, or are you all sitting back in a chair and looking at the finished product proclaiming, "It is good"... Others reminded me of something. Will there be a countdown thing on here like the Beta? It's not that big of a deal, just wondering... [Edited on 08.04.2007 10:02 AM PDT]

I don't know much about this "dumb piece of transparent blue plastic" except that it helps to calibrate your display, but I believe it should be included in the Limited and Legendary Edition of the game. It would only be fair to include this with the AV calibration app that comes with the aforementioned editions of the game. It's a piece of plastic. How expensive can it be to include it? I know this is asking for a lot and Luke/Frankie will likely not see this post, but I justed wanted to rant anyways. --dumb cat *wonders if piece of blue plastic is related...* EDIT: Those blue filters are around $6.00 at specialty photography shops, probably similarly priced on the web. Bungie, if done correctly, can probably get them at a bulk price of around half off. I wouldn't mind spending an extra $3 or so on the game if I knew the blue filter was conveniently included with the game. It would save us a lot of time and effort (in finding the filter ourselves) if we wanted to use the AV calibration app to its fullest potential. With shipping, I don't know if this filter will be so competitively priced in the Bungie store. [Edited on 08.04.2007 10:02 AM PDT]

Cool man, quite some Dutch people on these forums. I think by typing "All of which is wrapped in the embarrassing fact that everyone there speaks at least two languages fluently." Frankie meant that it's more or less embarrassing for him (and everyone in the US perhaps) that almost all of the Dutch speak English. We (the Dutch) need to be able to speak foreign languages fluently because our country is so small and we need to trade with other countries. That's why there always has been an emphasis on English and for a smaller part also on French and German in our education system. The French, Germans and especially the people from the US don't need to be able to speak another language as much as we do. So, I actually take his comment as a compliment. Also, most of the times German and French accents in English are way thicker than Dutch. Nice update Forge sounds sweet, look forward to using it and hearing more about it soon. Man there was so much text in that update I can only remember the bit about the forge map editor lol most of the stuff mentioned I already knew about though. But yeah sounds class. the base doesnt fly, its a land base vehicle that can hold several smaller vehicles inside its bay, the reason it was flying in the air was a direct result of a continuous and cataclysmic explosion caused by the destruction of the barrels inside.
