This is the best news since the September release date!!! I LOVE Halo co-op - my brother and I play it all the time and now that we can do it online it's going to be even better! With 4 players going at it I can't even imagine how amazing that's going to be. Bungie you rock!

The fact that they've confirmed 4-player Coop is great, but I have 1 minor gripe. Why not have one of the Covenant Elites be 1/2 Jaw from Halo 2. He was such a cool side character! I would love to have the opportunity to play as him!

Forgive me for asking this if its been already asked. Will the other Elites be included in the Cutscenes or will it olny be MC and maybe the Arbiter sometimes? Cause this is a great way to almost change up the story alittle when you play co-op. I mean it could be something along the lines of the Arbiter telling MC hes bringing some talanted soldier along (These new Elites) and they could be included in the story as well. I'm just hoping they're not left out if your playing co-op in the cutscenes. After that, this sounds great. However i will be playing the game all by myself the first time through to soak up the story and then go co-op with some buddies to get some achievements and some tactical fun

This is fantastic news! Four player co-op is going to make for some cool tactical and different game play. I would have replied to this update earlier but for some wired reason my internet wasn't working this morning. Downloaded the pod cast, look forward to listing to that later. I really like the elite on the right, the detail on the armour is cool, with the covenant markings. awesome stuff, and as Luke said, well done to all the test, engineering, production and design teams that made this happen, Great job Bungie ! The Tru7h never sounded so sweet.

No game will top this for another 5 years. i love you bungie. with a burning passion. marry me? the elites look great. i like how you guys went with the realism of four different characters... and back stories, pretty dern cool. ballers for halo has a good point, except we know that only the elite on the right has the armor that everlasting camo. The one on the left, who is by far the coolest looking elite ever, we dont know what his special thing is. It could be some totally new thing. But i guess i just have to play the game before making assumptions. Man that update got me horny though....

If the elites have the same ability as the chief, then what about flashlights and active camouflage. If the elites do still have camo, then the two new ones have "new" armor and their camo should last forever.

Understanding that the idea was to delve deeper into the fiction available for the Halo universe, I am forced to wonder why wasn't either a Spartan-III or any other members of the Spartan-II's used? Personally, I think that the sudden usage of a larger number of Elites may not fit too well, primarily because I'm sure most Elites still haven't accepted humans as realistic allies, being that they are of a "Technologically inferior" race. Even going into the end of Halo 2, the elites seemed to be begrudgingly assisting the humans, not willingly and happily. I hope there is a story referance somewhere that will close that particular gap. Outside of that one suggestion, THIS ROCKS!!!!!!!

OK, I totally understand this from a gameplay setup that they should all have identical abilities. But dont you just think its a little wierd that a human spartan and an alien elite can jump the same height, walk the same speed, etc. etc....... I kinda wish things were slightly different, but thats just me. I wish there were some advantage to being player 3, or player 4. Even if it was you spawned with a certain weapon set. Aka, Rockets, or Sniper. Maybe Brute Shot, I dont know. I think it would be fun to have the difference between characters even if it is as simple as weapon spawn.

Ok, everyone is happy about 4 player co-op, as am I, but additionally I want to thank Bungie for making my life longer. COS YOU ARE SLOWING DOWN TIME!!! with every announcement about Halo 3, every time the awesomeness increases, the timer to release date starts ticking a little bit slower. I am worried that time will just stop, broken under the weight of such anticipation. Seriously, I read the co-op announcement, and I swear my watch started ticking more slowly!

I just have to say that maybe the reason you have more elites and the arbiter is because they work together in the story ;-) The storyline is essential in a game Bungie knows that (at last someone realizes!) When you play on legendary and one person dies the level restarts... will this still happen? Or will the one person sit out?
