[b]DUDE!!!!![/b] I go to running camp for 5 days, and this is what I miss!!!??? It was horrible to be without technology for so long sadly. The outhouse smelled so bad even the flies wouldn't go near it. But returning to find that not only is there going to be co-op over Live, but 4 players!!! This is the greatest news I've ever heard from you guys. Best game in history of history, other people may challenge me, IDC. This means more than I can really ever say Bungie, and I wish my brain wasn't pudding right now due to 3 months of no school, then maybe I'd be able to come up with a more intelligent thank you. [b]Thank you Bungie[/b], everyone that works there, you people are great, and I gotta say sorry also for being such a jerk about the co-op over the last couple weeks. Now I must regain my composure. I like the idea of 4-player co-op, it has been something me and my friends have hoped would be in the game before last years E3 even showed the new Master Chief. I agree with others, Marines or possibly Spartans in the different armor would be cool, but the elites are cool too and I wouldn't mind giving up first player so I could play as one of them. You guys seem to have given this a lot of thought which is nice, because some games give you co-op people that when you think about it, don't make much sense to the storyline. I guess having two MC's in the first two games is an example, though it never bothered me that much, I just always thought it was a little awkward. G4 says this may be a turning point for games in the future. Maybe. I think it is, at least for shooters. We've always had 4-player co-op games, like that monster game whose name escapes me, where you have the giant lizard and ape and what not, roaming through the city destroying stuff, or like War of the Monsters. However, few shooters have such a feature, and this will definitely make Halo 3 stand out above the rest ( as though it doesn't do that already lol). If Star Wars: Republic Commando had had such a feature, it would have been a better game than it was, considering you have 4 AI on your team through most of the game, so why can't they be real people.

bleh, im looking forward to playing four player with friends but i would prefer the option to play with just spartans. Maybe a spartan unlock-able mode or something? I was never a big fan of the arbiter and i tended to skip his missions on halo 2 campaign play back. Four spartans would kick ass.

I have to say I saw it coming what with gears of war doing its thing, but its still cool. There must have been so many debates as to how to do it but Im almost totally happy with the setup. Good call on not making regular humans part of the 4. Though I do dream of being an ODST it would have thrown the whole thing out of balance and you would have had to have given everyone their own abilities which would probably have stalled the game. Very suprised that it is 3 elites though, instead of 2 spartans and 2 elites, but your way works. At least there are no qualms about who the hero is.... ...Just arguments over who is going to be him!

Oh yeah I almost forgot THANK YOU Bungie I will use this four player online/system link co-op feature with my cousins quite often.......Can I sue you for making a game so appealing before I even play it that I never get any sleep And broke my mouse by hitting the refresh button on the bungie homepage to much?

I think playing as Elites is an issue because everybody's gonna want to play campaign co-op, and most people are going to want to be the Master Chief. I've already picked my friends, and I already called playing as MC. If there's any dispute over that, then play by your -BLAM! self! At first, I didn't like playing as the Arbiter, but as I progressed through Halo 2, I realized that he was a total badass. I was actually hoping that you could play as Spartans, Elites [i]and[/i] Brutes in multiplayer. Oh well. I still think that Halo 3 is going to be the game to end all games. And on a side note, did anyone download Marathon? I did, and they didn't have the control scheme that I love (legacy). Totally ruined the experience for me. I'm not mad about it, but I expected the people who remade the game to consider adopting similar controls from Halo. They [i]did[/i] include [b]MJOLNIR Mark VI[/b] controls, but that was just the default control scheme. After all, a number of people (I'm not saying [i]everyone[/i]) are playing Marathon because of their love for the Halo series. Well, the countdown to September 25th continues. . . This is awesome news. The only way I could be happier was if the other players didn't have to be elites.. does anyone know if the Elite HUD is going to be identical to the Spartan one? I hated the pinkish purple display of the elite HUD in H2.

good point. although, i'd rather have the option to be playing as a customisable spartanor customisable elite. and mc and ab do the talkin. Arghh!! you know how it is guys. but all love to bungie halo 3 is gonna be ace wateva happens

Are there other aliens in similar positions to Humanity? Really *really* odd that this hasn't been mentioned before, the Covenant fighting a multi-fronted war. (ON THE OTHER HAND) I just remembered that the Covenent was at war- with humanity. That means this guy is probably responsible for the deaths of thousands (if not millions or billions) of human deaths. I wonder why he joined a human-sypathizer organization if that's true. Silly me, forgetful me. That could cause problems between this character and the Chief, though.

Wow. I thought plalying Halo 2 co-op made the game almost easy in some parts even in Legendary, I can't imagine playing with 4 people. That's gonna rock. It really must be very difficult. And the scope and size of the maps as not to cramp gameplay must just be in a word, epic.

Halo 3 four player Co-Op is like a dream come true! one question still remains I also read you could only play a Co-Op game with two players on one xbox 360, will you still be able to play split screen with four players on one xbox 360?!

MC is awesome but…… I still call dibs on the spec ops elite = P A big thanks to Bungie for this, I hope this option functions as it is supposed to right out the gate for you all.
