Foundry, Forgeries and Fun

Cheese-filled alliteration aside, we're obviously paying close attention to the Forge-based shenanigans that have been transpiring on the Internet and in the interest of trying to herd the cats of creation into a single file line, please post your best Forge Variants here, with well-written and descriptive depictions of your map. Paint with your words, like you've painted on Foundry's canvas. I've cross-posted text from another Forge/Gametypes thread here on the Forums. Do apply the format to Foundry specifically and go to town. We're watching, anxious to see your creations. Rebound, a Re-imagination of Snowbound Designed with Symmetrical-arena style slayer play in mind, Rebound takes elements of Snowbound that previously turned the map into an interior camping battle, like the Shotgun, and awards both teams a Shotgun in their respective bases. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3. Create post in this thread, and link to the Map variant and Gametype at the Publish to Forums link here [this way players can easily click those links and download your gametypes. 4. Create a well-written explanation of changes made to the map and if necessary a description of the gametype you've created, including ideal number of players, number of teams (if necessary) and any other relevant information. Please write as clearly and coherently as possible. 5. Bungie will be watching this thread and using it as a resource for gametype creation from the community as well, all posts not relevant to the topic at hand will be removed and users potentially extinguished like torches in a monsoon. [Edited on 12.12.2007 12:22 PM PST]

 • Monty Python and the Holy Grail Remember the ill faited attack against the french by the Knights of the Round Table in the hilarious Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Its been recreated on Foundry in a humorous, seige based map based on the concept of chucking things from on top of a castle wall down upon the charging enemy forces. Great for infection, one flag CTF, and assault, it plays alot like spikeball, but it is MUCH more varied (with equipment and all 4 grenades, plus other weapons.) True to the movie, you can also launch "livestock" up and over the castle walls (with mancannons and various objects) with hilarious consiquences. To scale the castle walls, you can either use one of two deployable grav lifts, or one of the "seige ladders." The gametype is an infection variant. The zombie team (determined randomly) plays the role of the charging english types, and the other the offensive french, who are strangly occupying a caslte in a 26th centrury warehouse. Both Teams can pick up weapons and equipment, which removes the need for significant stat modification on the part of the zombies to make the game fair. The only required change is the speeding up of the zombies and the reduction in their shield recharge time. Zombies start off with swords, and the humans start off with AR's (so they can defend themselves, but must rely on the equipment and grenades if they are to survive. In keeping with the Monty python theme, the alpha zombie takes the role of King Aurthur, gold in color, with slightly improved stats. The last man standing becomes the black knight ("Its just a fleshwound.") He cant move, or jump (being a stump) but he deals significantly more damage, damage resistance, and has some shield leeching, to make things a bit more fair for a last man standing who cant move. But what works out best abouth this gametype and map is that no one team becomes too powerful. Zombies dont run in and immediately massacre the humans, but the game does not degrade into a zombie shooting gallery either. Everyone has a good time, based on the initial tests. 4-16 players, for both map and gametype. But here's the map and gametype. Enjoy! Rembember, any infection, one Flag CTF, or Assualt gametype should work well with the map, and the gametype should work....reasonably well with medium to small maps, though this has not been tested.
