Theres alot of people who dont care.. i say You wankers, I was there when Marathon was released and i had to put the specs down on my Mac since it wasn't powerful enough to run it..lol.. Thank you Bungie to share off your great work.. marathon was always better then doom and is a classic for mac users and its great to see it once more. Great job guys my hat goes off to you

Nice. But theres something bothering me Bungie. I heard you guys might not include online co-op. Dude if you want the best shooter of all time or be up in top 5 and #1 live multiplayer game you got to do it. Delay the launch date its ok. Yes most of the community will freak out. But it will be worth it. I am a hardcore gamer and I love halo series its up there on my list of top 10 games of all time. When left 4 dead comes out ahh it will take the #1 live game. If you add online co-op you can probably stop that. Come on now dont cut out online co-op please. We cant wait for it. Halo 3 needs online co-op.!!!

Marathon, despite the aging graphics, is the one series I return to again and again. Not merely a shooting gallery or a tactical exercise, but a series of challenging mazes, puzzles and environments which make the game so much more than just a slaughter-fest. That and the menace of the deftly drawn characters of the rampant AI's, never seen, only experienced through their insane love-notes. Brilliant. I'd love to play this new incarnation, but if I've got to do it with an evil, evil console controller hell will freeze over first. I purchased an Xbox in December because a keyboard and mouse adaptor was supposed to be available in January but the device has gotten rotten reviews, only a handful of online retailers carry it and none of them will accept returns. After playing Halo on a Mac, Halo 2 was torture on the XBox with a controller designed to conflate axes of motion and impossible to use with both the speed AND accuracy afforded by a keyboard and mouse. So after playing all the Marathons dozens of times I'm not going to subject myself to an inferior gaming experience just to see the dazzling imagery. fp

Marathon XBLA and Halo 3 the same year!! *head explodes from awe* I wonder, will they have a vidmaster award? like, an award for completeing all the vidmaster levels, or could it be doing all the levels without dying or saving (a TRUE vidmaster challenge, to be sure!) but, will there be a run button to hold down? lol. for that matter, will it have all 5 levels of difficulty? (yes, its true vidmasters, there is actually FIVE! total carnage isnt for everyone, apparently.) oh, and what i've been screaming for weeks now: WHEN IS RELEASE DATE!!!!?!!?!!?! its cruel, keeping it from me.... p.s. anyone interested at all, check out [url=http://source.bungie.org/get][b]Aleph One[/b][/url]! its multiplatform, they even got it for linux users! and with the high-res textures and openGL support, it actually looks pretty sharp for a game thats almost 13 years old

Not mad at you guys, but this would be a huge disappointment if you didn't have online co-op. And EGM says you guys are working on some MP "issues"? Hope this means tuning and refining, only a couple months to go, or are there more? I am a worried fangrunt-person-thing... In an attempt to get back on topic, I am extremely excited about Marathon, I can't wait to try one of Bungie's earlier games, and it looks like a lot of fun. The survival mode looks insane!! Thank god for the crosshair-off toggle... :) To anyone whining about the graphics or "this game sux cause it's old", just because something isn't the newest and latest doesn't mean its worth passing over. You can have all the flashy visuals and big guns you want, but there's no substitute for solid gameplay. Granted, there's a lot of nostalgia riding on this one, but DEFINITELY play it if you haven't already done so thousands of times :)

Ah Halo 3 and I can play the series that started it all. I love that I'll be able to return to marathon on my 360 but till then I'm gonna go play the Aleph one version on my PC box. As for my thoughts, I was personally expecting/hoping for an Aleph One port to the arcade. In my opinion it's the best representation of the series thus far... But this new engine and stuff... I dunno...I feel suspicious. It looks way different. I'm crossing my fingers hoping I'm not seriously disappointed when they do make this available(date, n-e-1?) Looking at some of the screens they showed, it is somewhat difficult for me, as a longtime Marathon fan, to identify what I'm seeing as Marathon 2. Alright, a brief disclaimer before I rant. I know all the good people at Freeverse are surely doing their best on this project and I heartily appreciate this effort at bringing back one of the greatest classics. Plz don't hate me for saying this, but I can't seem to get it out of my head any other way. Aleph One: Art. This: Dear god I hope this isn't as botched as the screens make it out to be... The textures look like they're all over the place to me. I mean, in the originals and Aleph one updates, it looked like they went over every last surface with a fine toothed comb. This however looks liked it's been hurriedly glued together out of whatever textures were most convenient at the time.... Kind of like looking at the Mona Lisa redone by a 1st year college art student with fingerpaint. O.o Maybe it's not a final version......?*fingers crossed* Maybe I'm being too harsh. I dunno.
