idk about this, yes when halo 3 came out bungie did share it with microsoft, and as you can see, marathon gestures were added in the game such as the marathon logo, and the security Armour, (no derp intented) but who knows? maybe bungie wanted to just put a little something more of them into the game. Bungie has lots of secrets but majority of the time they want you to wonder and ponder over these events so that maybe each person can imagine what really happened.
