The Official and Only Halo 3 User-Created Gametypes/Maps Thread

In addition to our Files forums (located here), I'm creating a thread here on the Official Halo 3 Forum to serve as a catch-all for gametypes and map variants ONLY, that have been created by the community. The hope here is that this will be used as a resource and and archive of created games and map variants from the Community. This is NOT a place to discuss the quality of an author's work or offer suggestions, do that in the links the authors will provide for their gametype/map variants. This is ONLY for collecting the gametypes. Here's the format for posting, (I've bolded ONLY for the purpose of making the text stand out in this wall of text, please refrain from bolding in your posts) all posts in this thread that violate the post format will be deleted by the moderators. Rebound, a Re-imagination of Snowbound Designed with Symmetrical-arena style slayer play in mind, Rebound takes elements of Snowbound that previously turned the map into an interior camping battle, like the Shotgun, and awards both teams a Shotgun in their respective bases. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3. Create post in this thread, and link to the Map variant and Gametype at the Publish to Forums link here [this way players can easily click those links and download your gametypes. 4. Create a well-written explanation of changes made to the map and if necessary a description of the gametype you've created, including ideal number of players, number of teams (if necessary) and any other relevant information. Please write as clearly and coherently as possible. 5. Bungie will be watching this thread and using it as a resource for gametype creation from the community as well, all posts not relevant to the topic at hand will be removed and users potentially extinguished like torches in a monsoon. [Edited on 10.12.2007 1:55 PM PDT]

 • Blood Gulch A "remake" of the popular map from Halo:CE. The map is very open and vehicle heavy. The Red and Blue bases are very similar to that of the real Blood Gulch. To honor Halo 2, some elements from Coagulation have also been included. The caves and cliffside are slightly different but hold the same purpose. Good for Team Slayer and CTF. Garden Ridge Close quarters map. Everything surrounds a central field holding an energy sword. Catwalks are the main means of transport. A Banshee sits on a platform (similar to that from Assension) and is equally distant from both bases. Good for Slayer. CLASSIFIED Vehicle baised map (warthogs, mongooses, ghost) themed entirely on the conflict between Red and Blue armies (the Blue Army was in a ship, got to close to a hidden Red base, Reds shot them down, they fight). Red Team has a base imbedded within the sand. The base includes a balcony, rooftop, and vehicle spawn. Blue Team's main "base" is their crashed ship. The ship offers great cover and has quick access to most elements on the map. Weapons and vehicles are equalliy balanced. Satellite dish room in the far corner of the map (between Red and Blue bases) has a rocket launcher and will most likely be a point of interest during battle. Good for Team Slayer and Territories. Temple-O-Fun Asymmetrical map. Close quarters. Catwalks connect buildings and central structure. Central structure is a "hub" that connects all the catwalks together. It is a four way elevator that will land you on any of the four catwalks connected. Good for Slayer and CTF. Acid Rain Double sided hill with building on top. Falling objects from skybubble pelt the map as you advance up the hill. Objects can and WILL kill you. Objective is to be the first to the top the most times. Good with King of the Hill.
