Honestly, at the rate technology is going, I think we could have big breakthroughs in medicine with cures for cancer and other dreaded ills in under 30 years. Yes, I understand this is a little optimistic, perhaps.
I read somewhere that scientists are now studying taking an RNA strand and altering it, then binding it to DNA in order to block a mutated or bade gene it is coded for. I dont know exactly the details but it seems pretty amazing.
How long do you think it will take for cancer? Or other diseases?

You never know OP, we did go from propeller planes to rockets in less than 100 years. You just never know what you can do with science.
