I liked the darker energy that Eccleston brought to the Doctor, but I also felt like his portrayal was a little jarringly dissonant at times, and he took about half a season to really find his voice. Tennant played a version of the Doctor that, in retrospect, I find rather distasteful, but he did it well and consistently and was always a joy to watch as an actor even when I didn't like the character he was being made to play. So I really can't decide. Matt Smith trumps them both. :D
