Design an Emblem Contest Winner Revealed
Amidst waves of entries, one swashbuckled and spliced its mainbrace above the rest. That's not to say other entries didn't [i]inspire [/i]us, though.

Total rip off of oakland raiders symbol...You may not use any existing corporation’s logos, trademarks or other identifiable images...thats what the rules were. Bungie just picked it cause of pimps at sea. They should of modified it to not be a "corporations logo" I liked [url=http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t298/ospativan/soffishemblem.gif]my rendition of soffish[/url], though I know they could of tweeked it (I'm not that good at drawing on the computer).

Most of the other entries I've seen were Halo related, which is fine but if people would stop and think of all the symbols people are using on live, they're the symbols that have nothing to do with Halo. Ninja, Jolly Roger, bomb that looks like a wang, etc. Most of us want unique, crisp, clean and cool looking. I for one shall wear your bad ass pirate emblem with Troll pride.

Congrats to the winner, though I don't see the appeal of the design, I will not question the wishes of the Bungie's. LOL. Shame though, I thought my cyper ounk take on a sparta helpmet would make it.

Like I said before, the emblem looks great. I guess I just got a different interpretation of the rules when the contest was posted. Honestly, I like the Pirate emblem a lot better than the Ninja. I will definitely sport it come this Fall. Job very well done!

The entry did NOT follow the rules fully and you've gotta admit it WAY to close to the Ninja and Spartan to be concidered "Original." I was just making the counterpart to the Ninja. Everything has an opposite...which is why I felt Halo 3 needed a counterpart to the flaming Ninja. I wanted to put a couple cutlasses in it because if I was going to TRULY make the doppleganger I would have put ice around his head, but if I did it wrong I doubt it would have looked as clean or as simple. And after reading the numerous negative responses I have to say I did NOT even think about the Raiders logo. I was trying to remain consistent with Bungie's other designs that they like to use. Again, I never, not once, looked at the Raiders logo or even thought about it the entire time I was designing it. I don't even like football. To be honest I was at one time going to put a pirate hat on him or have a beard that you could toggle but it just didn't fit or look as simple as the bandana which I felt was much more effective. I think the pirate emblem looks badass! Although, I didn't realize all the similarities such as the Oakland Raiders symbol and the current Halo 2 Ninja symbol. The winning emblem is great but I don't see how it qualified with all these similarities other gamers are pointing out...? I mean, the same exact head from the Ninja was used..
