Helljumpers, commonly referred as are basically the special operation marines, something along those lines or an airborne division. They are much more skilled than regular marines.

in the book fall of reach they say Helljumpers are more skilled and they all wear a tatoo that says "drop jet jumpersand feet first into hell" thay are ODSTs (orbital drop shock troopers) there is a new halo 2 render of the ODSTs in the gallery.
Posted by: Gundulf The books never make their numbers real clear, but I'd guess about the normal ratio of regular soldiers to paratroopers... but who knows.
No because they dont know your Quote. ;}

ODST's " Orbital drop shock Troopers"or Hell jumpers are marines but i guess you could say the elite of the marine, what they do is drop in little pods from orbiting ship's threw the atmospher of a planet and land or "crash" at the designated area were troops are needed fast. oh the reason why they got the nick name Hell jumper is for the really high temperature in the pod while going threw the atmospher. "ten seconds of Hell":} [Edited on 4/14/2004 3:41:07 PM]

Yes, they are the guys in the dropship with Master Chief in the beggining of the E3 demo.

wait it looks different from the average marine?

Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, a.k.a. HellJumpers are elite marines that you'll be fighting along side of in Halo 2. Here is a pic. [Edited on 4/14/2004 3:37:00 PM]

im not quite sure, i believe its a marine, but because of the name i think maybe its a parachuter, and then when he lands in battle, he is a marine. dont know for sure

"The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (also known as "Helljumpers") are more or less the UNSC equivalent of an Airborne Ranger. This all-volunteer outfit has a rep for being a tad bit crazy, but have to be in order to strap yourself into a HEV (Human Entry Vehicle) and be shot out of a ship, through the atmosphere, to a hostile environment below. Suffice it to say these guys are tough and can kick plenty of Covenant butt." < in the news section

They are super marines, stronger and more skilled. Also fewer in number, other than that and their look, they are exactly the same as marines.
