People who know who he is and know that he is gonna help. 2. People who just see "MLG guy hired to change game" and complain about stuff they know nothing about. /fact
You can't hire a player to help balance a game. It would be like hiring a hockey player to write the new rules of the sport. They're biased with their own playstyles. If the player likes playing physical, then they'll add in a little more leeway for what is allowed, and so on. I don't even have Halo 4 yet and I know that getting "professional" players involved with a game is not a good thing
Unless the player is actively trying to better the sport as a whole, not just their play style... besides... it can't get worse. Getting help from someone who knows the flow of the gameplay and weapon balance as opposed to just the programming part is helpful.
That's what I'm saying. What he sees as an improvement in balance in the game as a whole might not be seen that way for other casual or competitive players since they all have their own ideas for balance. Basically, there's no way to balance a game. People with always complain about it so might as well save money and not hire random people as consultants
