Many (I'd say most) kids today aren't learning how to face adversity at all. More so, they're being catered to and they learn that complaining and whining about their problems is the only way go about them. When actually, taking initiative and solving the problem yourself can be much more effective--as you did OP.[/quote] Lets spin that around a bit, most of the kids that are catered to and learn that complaining and whining about problems is the only way to go about things often are the ones who become bullies. In most cases bullies are dumb kids who don't understand how life works and are pampered by their parents. Now for my personal sad bully story. I was in elementary school, this was the only time i was ever picked on because as i got older i grew big and had a natural look of a serial killer. So unlike most of you guys i don't know what it was like to be bullied in high school, just feared. Anyways, I was friends with this redhead girl and we had lunch together everyday. Then this one bald douche kid with earrings started spreading rumors that I liked her. She eventually stopped hanging around me and started hanging around this kid like the others girls. Now this douche kids personality was about as colorful as one of my 1st grade turds, but he had confidence and would insult and demean others to further gain this confidence. Because of this some of the more influenced girls would hang around him, further boosting his ego. Unfortunately this included my former friend, the redhead. It was at this young age i realized people like datdudeBV will prosper in a world like ours, while everyone worse off suffers, they will never notice or appreciate other people and will always be self absorbed. Who could blame them, in actuality they are probably the most pure of humans.
