Go to the Second page, and read the Second post, its Frankie and he tells you what the function of the "X" button is, TO DEPLOY EQUIPMENT, such as the Bubble shield, Trip Mine, and Portable grav lift. Seriously ppl, if you dont want to look like a complete jackass then read other ppl's posts AND especially Frankies. Secondly, THEY EVEN TELL YOUU IN THE VIDEO THAT, and I quote, "When you are DONE playing, as a group, the first thing you want to do is talk about it." and your theory about watching the replay in-game such as during a re-spawn......RE-SPAWN IS LIKE 5 SECONDS.

Finally the update we've been waiting for. Sucks for me because my third boy is due on the 8th. I was hoping to get into the Beta before I have 3 kids. Then we get three weeks to play in the beta. Although I am excited for the beta I am a little let down that people who got in without crackdown don't get any extra consideration. I appreciate the opportunity to play with all of you Halo junkies. So the graphics are a let down to a lot of you? They aren't shock and awe graphics. The clip of what is going to be included in the beta offers much information on what will be available. I want to know if those participating will be given ranks to play in matchmaking, or if itll just match everyone up in a Team Training style matchmade game. Another thing that concerns me is whether or not many visual effects have been left out on purpose. I really hope thats the case.

Yeah frank's right... First off The Trip Mine is very powerful might i add, if u notice in the video the warthog reaches at least 150 feet in the air, The bubble sheild though i was a little disappointed, Even thought it was the alpha i would of liked it more if it stuck into the ground like in the Halo Commercial. Little things like that would make the game seem so much better. Especially with teh trip mine. The guy was still shooting at the Hog and the Mine just came out of nowhere. Hopefully these things were tweaked For May 16th. Also the battles seemed very intense though the graphics seemed Like Halo 2. IM expecting a lot more to come when Halo 3 comes out. Im not trying to be an asswhole im just making susgestions and hopefully there already covered.

First off, things look great. As in, frosted flakes great. Anyways, here's my personal theory. The mines, and bubble shield will be, as others have said, one time use, X-Button "Ultilities". The Grav Lift seen somewhere around 0:25 will also be one. I say this because slightly after the guy launches off of it, it slides slightly downhill. May just be a glitch though, who knows? I'm thinking that these three will be it. One offensive, one defensive, one "toolbox". Also, the overshield and cloak might be included, but all of the previous three I've mentioned are more general, and overshield/cloak are personal. That's my opinion on the matters. Although this is really adding a lot to the relatively simple Halo-type gameplay, I feel like it will most certainly be a wicked addition.

You do the replay thing after the match is over. Thats what they said in the video. So when the match is over you can brag about it to your friends. Starting at 6:02 they tell you the replay is not in the game but is after the game is over. Otherwise you will be freezing time and that wouldnt be fair. So the x button is the shield, mine, and grav lift.

Bungie never forced anyone to participate in the Beta. A 20-day Beta isn't meant for entertainment; it's purpose is to generate constructive feedback from those participating to make the final game entertaining for the public.

The gravity lift at 00:27 is there all the time so I´m not sure what you guys are talking about? I think it´s time for Frankie to come clean and tells us exactly what equipment it is that you´ll be able to deploy. The bubble shield was thought to be linked to the X-button from the moment we saw it in Digital Domain´s pre-rendered video so that wasn´t really a surprise :-(

People just find ways to glitch the game.

oh man that was too sweet. I love the man cannon seen on Valhalla. oh man. I loved the bone-crushing sound of when the spartan hit the ground before the juicy splash of the water. The water looked amazing, as Frankie said, especially for the alpha build. good work bungie team, you make me proud.
