New Halo 2 Maps Revealed!
At last we reveal the two downloadable Halo 2 maps coming later this year. And no, it's not an April Fool's. Screens and info inside.

YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!! Hang em High!!!! omg omg omg. So happy. And I actually played Derelict a LOT, even tho I'm not one of those symetrical map MLGer types. It is a solid map. True, I would've rather had Damnation or chill out, but I'm sure Derelict was much easier to do, small and simple. I love you guys. And everyone in here complaining. Get a @#$@#$ clue already. Crybaby brats.

Wow these two were amongst my favourite slayer maps for Halo 1, I actually prefer Derelict to HeH personally, but both always provided great entertainment. The new aesthetics look incredible. I love how a more ancient and... derelict feel have been brought to Derelict, and the architectural detail and texturing for Tombstone looks superb.

This is quite possibly one of the dumbest moves I have seen Bungie make. Why are they only available on the Xbox? Is it really that Hard to put them on marketplace? I mean with all of the security issues Xbox Live has, Major Nelson has already confirmed this www.majornelson.com, I have no faith in giving my credit card to microsoft only to have it stolen by some teenager. I am glad I no longer have a credit card on my Live account. Microsoft points are FAR safer and I believe that these maps need to be released on marketplace or you guys aren't going o get nearly as much business.

Wow this SUCKS so bad. I got all excited and then read that you have to have a credit card. Really, couldn't you guys have figured out a way to get them to us who have 360's and no credit cards? I hope the Beta comes out soon because it looks like I'll never be able to play these awesome maps. This is ghey, so how long before they are free? I would have paid 10 bucks in points to play just the Hang Em' High remake. It sucks to get all happy so fast and then be let down so hard....

Frankie and team, I'm sorry. I'm normally a very positive and encouraging person, but this is just weak. To release these at a cost of ANYTHING this late in the game, it's almost rude. Am I wrong in assuming that these maps will likely be in the Vista version of Halo2 also releasing in a month or so? If so, development will be paid for by the sale of the Vista game. Having to pay $4.00 for two remakes is not going to get me back into halo2. (I'd have to pay 2x since my wife plays(past tense) with my clan on her own Xbox. I'm sure you thought about this reaction and the business required it... so I'm sure it's no surprise and I wont be the only one feeling this way :) Looking forward to Halo3... can't wait for the beta! I'm very happy about bringing back a variant of Hang 'Em High... I would have preferred a remake of Damnation over Derelict, but oh well - I'll take it! April 17th won't be here soon enough.

IMO it just didn't seem right to force people who haven't yet bought a 360 to by one just because there would be new maps for Halo 2 in the MM system. Seemed kinda underhanded to turn a xbox game into a 360 game. The way *I* interpreted it (through an "anonymous dude") is that MS wanted it to be that way, and "some people" disagreed and wanted it the way you see on the front page. Which didn't have the benefit of XBL 360 and its MS points. It was the same for the original map pack maps. Why complain now, about a game thats been around for 2 1/2 years? If you really want a game that uses MS points for content, get a freaking 360 game. Halo 2 [i]still[/i] represents the best non-360, console implementation of game content transactions, and Frankie may be telling us tonight whether they will eventually become free. Honestly, people are being silly. First complain that theres not enough Halo 2 content, then complain that there isn't a HEH remake, then complain that they're only 360, then complain that they're no longer 360-exclusive, then complain that they are being delivered through halo 2; the game that they were designed for.
