What do you think of the way 343 handled the Forerunners?
I would have preferred if they had refrained from including them altogether in the game - it would add to the sense of awe and mystique that you felt in the past Halos, and besides, they look like geriatrics with surgically removed noses - you could tell the design team wasn't especially inspired.
I don't think that the inclusion itself was the actual problem - the issue was in the way they reduced the Forerunners to petty creatures, completely ignoring all the connotations of sheer evolutionary superiority that the previous Halos strove so hard to build.
Hell, the books didn't help that much in that respect either - the general plot and structure of the book was fairly well executed, compared to the previous Halo books, given that it was authored by Greg Bear, but the way in which the Forerunners were portrayed was disappointing to say the least - they could have done much more with it than reducing them to a more evolved humanity IMO.

1. Didact is ugly. 2. Didact is a tard. 3. Librarian should have killed him instead of betraying him and letting him plot his revenge for centuries. 4. Didact and Chief NEVER even speak to each other directly. 5. Didact and Chief only meet twice. 6. Didact likely didnt kill Chief because he probably thinks Chief is just an emotionless green robot being ordered around by Cortana (See 4 and 5 for reasons). 7. Didact falls of a bridge. Really 343?
