Halo 2 Launch Date and Special Limited Edition!
Halo 2: Release Date and Collector's Edition Unveiled

Halo 2 will be available in stores on November 9, 2004. That's the long and the short of it. You'll be playing Campaign, multiplayer or both on November 9th. And if you pre-order, you'll have the chance to purchase an extra-fancy collector's edition in a metal box.
I can still remember that feeling of buying my first ever game. In my case, it was the Atari 2600 game COMBAT. I remember taking the bus home and reading the instruction manual. "52 different games in one!" Admittedly they were all variants of the same game, but, that feeling of rushing home to play it, but cherishing that pristine box of your favorite game is an irreplaceable feeling. Of course back then, the boxes were made of cardboard and mine got wet and disintegrated within a week.
That's why we're pleased, no, elated to announce the existence of the Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition in its cool, steely silver, embossed, satin-finished, perfect, metal box.
The Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition is available to players who pre-order the game - those who have already pre-ordered, will probably be contacted by their retailer to see which version they want, but to be safe, we recommend contacting your retailer directly and making sure they know which version you want - awesome regular kind or super-awesome Limited Collector's Edition.

That's freakin crazy. The Collector's edition looks awesome. The only set back about this news is the launch date is back another two months. I'm going to be on a two month vacation anyways. So it doesn't really matter. Keep up the good work Bungie.

I wonder if I will be able to get the Special Edition one instead of the original one that I have reserved for me at EB games huh? beats me, well I hope I could get that one instead of the other one if I just simply tell them that I want the Special Edition instead. Well anyways I just cant wait until it comes out in November. Ha my birthday is only five days less than than the release date cool. I hope that the Special Limited Edition! comes out for Europe (The Netherlands) and is this Special Limited Edition for PC version or also for Xbox? Because Halo was first out on Xbox and I think many people gonna buy the Special Limited Edition if it's also released for the Xbox console...(I hope so)

Whutup yall, I am an american living in AUSTRALIA now and I am hoping soooo badly that we get the Special metal box edition. There are lots of games that have been released at around the same dates as the states. Pandora Tomorrow came out like March 26th in downunder. I am sure that Bungie CAN accomplish this feat of getting halo 2 at least a week after its released in the states. As for the Limited Edition, EVERY country should get it. There are lots of Australian Halo supporters and they are just as excited as Americans, Europeans or Chinese Halo fans. So I dont think that just because you are based in a different country you should miss out. Conversion to PAL is an effort for the game and for the DVD included, but if work is done, it can be accomplished and there will be very, very satisfied fans, Bungie. Bungie would be pleased to know of how many fans are so loyal here in Australia and somebody said that the Aussies are very big Xbox and Halo supporters and this is true. It's like the second United States here. So please Bungie, take careful consideration of these notes being sent to you from all over the world for that "busty metal box" (it looks so good it kind of reminds me of a gorgeous woman and reminds me of why I am thankful to be a man!) IF A CAR CAN BE SHIPPED TO AUSTRALIA, SO TOO CAN THE HALO 2 LIMITED EDITION METAL BOX!

What about Canada, we love Halo 2 as much as the U.S and scince we are on the saem continent and a neighbors I think Canada should get them aswell because they are so kickass and so many Canadians want them. Send the special editions to Canada Bungie!!!

Well you can pre order it internationally throught the gamestop website or the Electronics Boutique website and they will send it to you within 3 days or release. I sent an email concerning the special edition in differant countries and waiting on a response

I can twait for this new box set i was nearly on the floor wen i saw it, i contacted game straight away to make sure i wos ghetin that box set. and with the new screenshots. Halo 2 has got everthin you wanted from Halo 1 but didnt have and thats very little, but now this is gona be the daddy of games especially since its got xbox live
