Halo 2 Launch Date and Special Limited Edition!

Halo 2 will be available in stores on November 9, 2004. That's the long and the short of it. You'll be playing Campaign, multiplayer or both on November 9th. And if you pre-order, you'll have the chance to purchase an extra-fancy collector's edition in a metal box.
I can still remember that feeling of buying my first ever game. In my case, it was the Atari 2600 game COMBAT. I remember taking the bus home and reading the instruction manual. "52 different games in one!" Admittedly they were all variants of the same game, but, that feeling of rushing home to play it, but cherishing that pristine box of your favorite game is an irreplaceable feeling. Of course back then, the boxes were made of cardboard and mine got wet and disintegrated within a week.
That's why we're pleased, no, elated to announce the existence of the Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition in its cool, steely silver, embossed, satin-finished, perfect, metal box.

I reserved my SPECIAL COPY at game stop I checked at Electronics Boutique and they didn't have but it surely is at GAME STOP reserve now and if not in you country then go online and have it mailed to you geez. The GREAT CHAKA HAS SPOKEN. BUHA BUHA BUHAHAHAHA!

So they released a launch date? Well, good. How about in Halo 3 they reveal that the Master Chief is really a super advanced and maybe even cloned Indiana Jones? Think about it!! Both fight an evill group of evilness, both explore ancient sites of mystery and danger and always do something awesome that no one else can seem to do!!!! Plus Indiana has a really cool hat and the Master Chief (whom I;ve come to call Bill for easy reference) has an equally cool helmet. Ah rambling..... Being a gamestop lacky i can tell you. All you have to do is have call in and make sure they have you down for the collectors edition. Its like 5 bucks more than the regular one.

I agree. I live in Australia and if it comes out so much as three days after it does in America, over here... grrrrr. Though I don't think this is likely. Bungie isn't Gearbox, but look at what they did - similtaneous global releases. An impressive feat, if you ask me.

I'm an "Aussie" too Bungie and would LOVE to get my hands on that Special Edit. 2 disk set. Don't forget about us downunder Bungie (and Microsoft), remember that Australians are the Largest xbox supporters in the world (per capita) and we would feel a little bit abused if we couldn't get our hands on that fantastic looking metal box. Do Bungie employee's read these forums?

Wooohoooo Gimme Gimme Gimme... Lets just hope that it is available at the more normal retailers in the Netherlands... I don't wat to go to some special games workshop or something that imports it and then sells it for 2 times the normal price.... Well anyway what can I say 'bout the box... ITS TOTALLY AWSOME!!!! I live in norway. Can't it be possible to put the specialbox [b]and[/b] the original in the stores. Like specialbox costs 700 and normal costs 600 something. I dunno where to preorder. I've never preordered anything before. Would like it [b]VERY[/b] much if the specialbox could be placed in stores to.

Yea Aussie here and will not be happy if we are neglected for the case. And also if the Matrix can be worldwide release why not Halo 2 I mean it's just as big if not bigger.

Soon as I heard this I went to my EB games where I already had HALO 2 reserved and asked them about it, they said they didn't know anything about it and probably wouldn't for a few weeks, so I couldn't preorder it. This makes me nervous... someone else might get it before me, this is highly unacceptable! I am gonna call back every single day to find out.

Right UK Release date. Every .co.uk website i have been to says that it will be released on 9th november. I know its not official but its the best i have got to go on. I have not seen anything about the special edition so only Bungie Knows. I think i'm gonna have to go get me some Halo armor till it comes out.

If this doesn't come out in Finland then my friend in the States is going to laugh his head off at me! I have to get this or else he'll talk about it whenever we play on Live and I won't be able to say anything to him! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE RELEASE THIS IN FINLAND! Also, when will this game come out in Europe? If it's much later than when I play on Live with my friend he'll completely school me. Knowing him (and any other gamer whose ever even glanced at Halo 2) he'll be playing this 24/7 when he gets it. If it comes out later here I won't have much of a chance against him... Though the thing I want to know most is if Bungie will release the Special Limited Edition in Europe... PLEASE!!!
