Halo 2 Launch Date and Special Limited Edition!

Halo 2 will be available in stores on November 9, 2004. That's the long and the short of it. You'll be playing Campaign, multiplayer or both on November 9th. And if you pre-order, you'll have the chance to purchase an extra-fancy collector's edition in a metal box.
I can still remember that feeling of buying my first ever game. In my case, it was the Atari 2600 game COMBAT. I remember taking the bus home and reading the instruction manual. "52 different games in one!" Admittedly they were all variants of the same game, but, that feeling of rushing home to play it, but cherishing that pristine box of your favorite game is an irreplaceable feeling. Of course back then, the boxes were made of cardboard and mine got wet and disintegrated within a week.
That's why we're pleased, no, elated to announce the existence of the Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition in its cool, steely silver, embossed, satin-finished, perfect, metal box.

Hello, my name is Joeloach, and i am an addict. I am starting my detox from www.mobfather.com today, so far it's been okay...I guess. My therapist (read unhappy wife due to the 2-4 hours per day playing mobfather for 20 months) is going with my recommendation of getting Halo2...unbelievable that it's live. I have refrained from getting my hopes up to much for this game considering i have twice placed a deposit on it's "upcoming release"...but i have a semi-chub that it may actually arrive on the 9th, WHOOOOOT!!

Guys last night I panicked because my friend heard that the halo 2 limited addition wont be out until the 16th of november. and today some guy at work thats all hyped up about it said it wont be out til the 16th eather!!!! ok iv gone to all these different web sites EB, Gamestop n bungie n whatnot and they all say the 9th Please please tell me this rumor is dead wrong!

I believe that best buy was giving away t-shirts i pre-ordered mine at toys'r us and guy said there might be something special u get?? Something to think about: Were all waiting for what promises to be a great day in history Nov 9th, but on that day will we truly be ready??? what you think??

I've heard that along with ordering the special edition i know you get the behind the scenes stuff and xtra's dvd but that oyu might get something else. like an action figure or something anyone else now about this???

Finally, I pre-ordered the damn thing at my local EB Games, yay ^^! It's sweet that the Limited Edition has gone international and all, but the case seems to be made of plastic o_O. At least it felt a lot like plastic when I held one of the empty covers @ EB. Could it be that the "demo covers" are made of plastic, and that the real thing will be metally goodness?

I've done a lot of searching, but can't seem to locate this answer anywhere. Hopefully, I will get it here. It has been stated that the 'Limited Edition' Box of H2 will only be available for those that preorder it, not as a store stocked item. (Yes, I have pre-ordered, and yes it is in the form of the SLE/H2 Box). I am just curious on if this is cold hard fact. There have been so many times that a game/dvd whatever is released in a special limited edition, but then you see that edition sit on the shelf for years because it's not as limited as everyone thought. It's not all that important really, just bragging rights I guess for those people that purchased the game as a pre-order. Does anyone know if Bungie is creating this special case ONLY for those that pre-order, or will it be sitting on the shelves right next to the regular Xbox case once the release date comes around?

I got one of those cases and transfered my original Halo to the tin case.. Its pretty neat! But so far, it doesn't have anything inside to hold a second dvd.. Oh and just for the record, I reserved my Halo2 on 02-17-2002 ^_^ Nov 9th will ROCK, I will play H2, wearing my H2 armor suit!
