Short, Scary Stories! 2 [Updated, 4.15.09]
This thread will have some stories from the books "Scary Stories to tell in the Dark" and "More Scary Stories to tell in the Dark"

"Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" the boy tried to sleep, he thought it was just his imagination. But then he heard the front door open, and he heard the groan again. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The boy heard footsteps slowly move through the kitchen into the dining room, then into the living room. He then heard footsteps slowly climbing the stairs. Closer the footsteps came. They were right outside his door. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The do0or opened. The boy was shaking with fear. He listened as the footsteps moved closer through the dark room to his bed. Then they stopped. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The voice groaned...[/quote]

The time was about 9:30 p.m. and I was on my way home from a friend's house(I was about 11 or 12 at the time). He only lives around the corner from my house so there aren't any problems about how late I went home. As I walked outside,and got on my scooter, I noticed something; this night, seemed different than usual. The night was colder, darker, and seemed as if time was standing still. I decided I would hurry home and try to get there a little faster than usual(only took about 2 minutes walking), but as I turned the corner, I felt a terrible shiver down my spine. I turned around only to see a man, standing there. Though, this was no man, more of a shadow. A looming darkness watching me, staring at me. He looked like a silhouette of a man wearing a hat but with dark blood red eyes staring at me. He was standing on the ground, but almost appeared to be floating there, perhaps as if a man was trapped between two dimensions. I stared at him for only a second, though it felt as if time stood still for much longer, before I darted off, hoping that whatever this was couldn't catch me. It only took about 10 seconds for me to reach my door and get inside, heart racing, body shivering as if the temperature was below zero. I then went to my room and fell asleep, hoping that I was dreaming, and would have no memory of it in the morning. The next day was a school day, and I still didn't feel so good. I decided to ask one of my friends if he ever saw a ghost, or even believed in them. This was where he told me his story, where he too, saw something. He described the ghost as the very same thing I had seen, which at first, led me to believe he was joking with me. The problem was, however, that I had yet to tell anyone of what had happened the previous night. In case anyone was wondering this really did happen to me. [Edited on 02.02.2011 12:47 AM PST]
