Should I..
I'm having a problem in my relationship, my girlfriends dad doesn't approve of our relationship and he has yet to meet me or even talk to me. He refuses to let our relationship continue(know that she is 18 and in college. I'm thinking of talking to him myself, in eyes of other, maybe other fathers, should I talk to him myself or sit by?

You need to understand his caution. If she is 18, she is probably a senior in high school or a freshman in college. I would probably behave like the father just because his daughter going from a relatively sheltered high school life to college (where there are a lot more freedoms and unknowns) could be scary for him. But you will have to talk to him eventually and can't sit by.
