Halo 3 Beta Update
In light of the recent Microsoft press release, we give you some more details on how to ensure your participation in the upcoming Halo 3 Beta program, and a few more tidbits about how we plan to take care of the Bungie faithful.

live for sure....system link im not usure about....the main goal of the beta is for testing...and they cant do testing if you are offline

Sorry if I missed getting this answered somewhere else but I cannot get a clear picture as to how the Beta is going to work. Given I am in Australia the prospect of playing on Live is of no value due to lag, so the only way I can run with this is if the Beta will allow for System Link so I can play locally with others. What has not been made clear after the Beta is downloaded from Live to your 360 HDD is will it be playable only on Live or System Link also???? Someone please advise ASAP as I have pre-ordered Crackdown and not sure if its for nothing???? Update: Problem solved. Crackdown order has been changed to lay-by (I think you guys call it lay-away) and I wont be getting it until Beta is actually available to play...when...who knows? [Edited on 2/27/2007]

Iam lucky iam homeschooled all i have to do is set my clock for 5:00 am whait to 12:00PM-3:00PM in a custom game WITH MY PC NEXT TO ME.If that dont work Iam geting or renting crackdown ether way I win.

Hmm, I think I have over 2000hrs in Halo, 0hrs in Halo2, and I think maybe I'll be needing an Xbox360 before too long. Dude this sucks because My internet got shut off like a week ago and the only way I can play is if I bring my hardrive over my friends and I dont want to do that, so like ounce My internet gets turned on im playin Halo 2 all day and then ill het that Crackdown game to because it sounds pretty cool, and then it gives me access to the Halo 3 Beta Test

What really confuses me of this press release is the when Bungie wrote, "According to the press release, if you play three hours of games during this period, you then go register via http://www.halo3.com for a chance to become a beta participant. Specifically, you have to play those games and then be among the first 13,333 players to register at the site." I have already registered, so does this mean I have to register again after I play the three hours and hope to be part of the first 13,333 players that have played and registered? In this scenario, the order of people that have registered will be reset on Feb 1st. Or is being the top 13,333 already decided and it is just up to the participant to meet the other requirements. Basically, the question is, do I have to re-register? Or am I already set with the registerration and all I have to do is play for three hours at the designated time? [Edited on 1/7/2007]

I plan on registering at 3:05 LOL[/quote] very good Idea. this is what I plan to do. if I can actually get an answer from Frankie, or KP, or someone... at 12:01 I'll log on, and go into an Online Custom game. wait for 3 hours... then...atempt to sign-up...although, I really think the Microsoft server for halo 3.com will explode again... BTW. If you cannot go play custom games...well...3 hours of Matchmaking it is!

You dang people with you silly questions, the "rule of three" they put a 3 day span on it for a reason. You play a 10 minute game, you have played 10min of Halo2 multiplayer. So figure it out you would have to play 18 games that are 10min long. That is so easy, and question answered. At 3:01 there is no one going to be entering already, its impossible. I plan on registering at 3:05 LOL

Theres problems they shouldve fixed on Halo 2 but still never did. Too busy fooling around with an already sorry optimatch playlist. Plus in my opinion what good is giving it in the form of a contest to those who are desperate for anything of Halo 3? Everyone who is fool enough to play the worthless waste of time called Halo 2 for yet another 3 hours isnt an active supporting gamer. The ones who played the game on a fair level and helped the community by trying to rid the online community of cheaters for the past two years and still continues to play are the active supportive gamers...not some 13,000 people just desperate to play it. Plus if everyone has a brain they would just be smart enough to get gamefly and rent the crappy game called crackdown and just download the beta that way instead of killing myself for 3 hours playing Halo 2. You have no idea that when that contest starts wether or not the people will just not even play the game but just go in a game...not care and just commit suicide or just do something to hold them over for three hours. Its pointless to hold such a worthless contest. Just have everyone download it so that everyone will give their opinion and their experiences with any problem that should occur on the beta.
