Happy Halo Day!
It's hard to believe that it's been five whole years since Bungie unleashed Halo on the world! To celebrate this momentous occasion we've got a few small announcements that may be of interest to fans of the series as well as a little screenshot from a game we like to call Halo 3.

Peopl are impressed, I care less. I will never buy a 360. Period. First I read that you guys were making Halo 2 for Vista, and I knew Microsoft had you buy the "no-nos". Only reason that IT MUST COME OUT ON VISTA is so they can sell that OS. Plain and simple. Without you, Xbox would've died. So they look to you guys to make sure Vista won't bomb. It'll run on XP just fine, but you say it won't, when clearly when you were first programming the graphics and coding Halo 2 up years ago for Xbox, Vista wasn't out. Wasn't even called Vista. Longhorn was the name, and you guys most likely coded the game in XP, or heck, even 2000. Who knows...Therefore, H2V should really be H2XP, because the original was was made and tested on the older OS, and then coded to the Xbox version and encrypted and what-not. It worked then, it should work now. But I figure I'll just rip Vista somehow, just like my XP I have on my PC. I kinda got over it. But then to read that you guys are making maps for H2, which, lets remind everyone, and, hmm..lets remind you guys since you must've forgotten somehow...that Halo 2 was made for Xbox, and the last time you guys tried to do something that would work with 360...crapped out (I'm looking at you Backwash). You're doing the same thing with Microsoft again. Halo 3 is eventually coming out, but with the lack of sales that the 360 has, especially with two other competitors FINALLY stepping in, Microsoft is getting scared and wants, NO, NEEDS something from the only good company that has made anything worth playing, to suck more people into buying their system. I'm ashamed to know you guys. I regret buying your games now. I regret that I ever had faith in you, for everytime you guys try and "do something nice", you let down a good sized chunk of your fan base, and without us, you'd have died aloooong time ago. Thanks. I'm pawning, wait...no I think I'll just give away my copy of Halo 2. the OS has a whole new chassis for gods sake its practcly a new OS and that ******* dare speak like that?!?!? yes its a bummer that its not gunna run on XP cuz Vista is gunna be expensive, but lets face it, Windows is finally about to finnish the goddamn OS race with vista. so they have to do that. and as for using halo 2 vista to protect microsofts money, THIS IS WINDOWS WE ARE TALKIN ABOUT!!!! YOU HAVE TO KEEP USING WINDOWS WITH UR PC OR BUY A MAC OR SUMTHIN!!!!! ITS THE MOST POPULAR OS OUT THERE,, AND U DARE IMPEADE BUNGIE????????

i agree with this guy why would you make maps only for 360 when halo2 was made for the original xbox that makes no sence .

That was already known, that is given away in the trailer and in halo 2. i kno this and i havnt played halo 2 campaign and dont kno the story at all, cuz i could only play halo 1 cuz i didnt hav an xbox. also it shows that the AR (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) is back... but that dont mean much cuz i already saw weapons reverting to the origanals (weapons from 1 that were modified in 2 sucked in 2 but all the new additions in 2 were awsome)

Before I was just like "Halo 3: eh, I like the game a lot but big deal. How good can it be?" In the past month I've gone from this to drooling over anything Halo. The more I see, the more I can't wait. After that vid about the multiplayer stuff and this hot screenshot which the lighting is just over-the-top ridiculously amazing in, I can hardly wait. Who knows about the gamepley, but I bet this turns out to be the best looking game on the 360 yet!

For a Real Game with no wait or weekly craphole updates play Gears of War.Bungie just feeds us garb and knows that theirs tards out there that would wait 10 more years from today to play Halo 3 I can see Bungie talkin about "Their Baby" For months on months but the funny thing is is that their playin and testing the game so their game fix is always met but we just get to hear stupid weekly updates.Bungie is like the Energizer Bunny they just keep typing and typing WE WANT HALO 3 NOT WEEKLY UPDATES ANDSCREENSHOTS THAT GO NOWHERE!!

Your oviously not a huge fan of halo, because everything you said was, STUPID. Did you not read egm's story on it? this is a pre-alpha beta version, which means the screenshots SUCK, they have a year to polish them, you make it sound like it will be the finished product, Peter Jackson movie cancelled? Do you read the news? It's not cancelled they simple didn't find a sponsor, if they have to they will just get microsoft to do it. wow im so excited to here about all the new things about halo,Halo was a big hit and still is the most played game on xbl im so happy they making new maps on halo 3 i hv the legendary edition of halo3 preordered right now im going to see wht the halo 3 comercial will look like on dec-4th hope to find out more PS-how can i get the beta i want to try out the demo hope to see these new things soon!!!!!!!

Hmm. I would like to know if there will be a "multiplayer map pack" kindof thing for the new maps. as the credit card my live subscription is on is now expired, it is quite difficult to buy things on live, and a map pack disc would make things much better.

I think it's important to remember battlecruiser that this is very erly in the development of halo 3 and grapahicly the game will see huge improvements and polish visuealy over the development time. yes the visor does not look quite as good as the the one seen in the anoucement trailer this could be due to the the way the light is shining onto the visor on that perticular map-level, the chief's model looks like it is under a very intence light source. appolgieys for bad spelling, very tired,lol

Aww, beta in spring. That means the real thing will be out after spring. Waiting is such a difficult thing to do for something so great. As for the new maps only on the 360, that just adds to the already large list of reasons why not to wait for Halo 3 release to get one. It's so hard to hold back. That screenshot is going straight to my desktop. If only my monitor was bigger. ;)

Does it meen The game of games comes out in about 13 months or 0,000001 seconds after new year...witch i hop it does cous i cant studiy my ass off in he 9nth grade to have to wait a hole -blam!- ing year more. Im mind fooked. Help me And might the new halo maps ever be free, like the first day or so.

1. If you think that Halo 2 has any measurable impact on the sell-thru of Vista or that Vista needs Halo 2 to succeed, you're insane. Halo 2 is only for Vista because we're using Live Anywhere, among other Vista-specific features. 2. In that same vein, the Xbox has not been supported with new content from Microsoft itself for nearly 18 months. All 1st party development shifted to the 360, for obvious reasons. So, your choice was either nothing for Halo 2 again, ever, or new maps (and everything that comes with that - work on emulation layer for Halo 2 on the 360, continued focus on improving the banhammer for Halo 2). You are, of course, welcome to do whatever you want with our games and are free to hold us in low regard. But nobody sits here and tries to think of ways to screw you over. In both the cases of Halo 2 Vista and the new Halo 2 maps, the alternative is to not release anything.
