Happy Halo Day!
It's hard to believe that it's been five whole years since Bungie unleashed Halo on the world! To celebrate this momentous occasion we've got a few small announcements that may be of interest to fans of the series as well as a little screenshot from a game we like to call Halo 3.

Dear Bungie, I have a regular xbox and it says the maps are coming for 360. So can you keep your promise and NOT make them available for the xbox as well? I want to go out and spend 450 dollars to buy it and play some new maps. Sincerely yours, The rich guy.

look - after playing G0W and a few other games... Gheylo just doesn't do it for me anymore... looking at how 'cartooney' both Halo games have been, and now seeing an 'in-gheym' screenshot of the STILL cartooney-looking Master Chief - i am soooooo freakin' disappointed. i thought Bungie would step up to the plate and AT LEAST make the gheym LOOK better and more realistic. sadly - this is not the case. and after playing GoW for awhile and going back to Gheylo 2 i see Epic's point - it IS stupid to be jumping around all over the place. the combat does NOT feel realistic. the gheym is NOT immersive. it is a freakin' cartooney caricature. sad. so sad... --- oh - and putting out a public beta for all us glitchers so that WE can DO YOUR JOB at finding all the exploitable things to do on your maps is pretty pathetic. you've seen how bad your coding was on the last two and you want the PUBLIC to point out all your flaws so you can patch them up for a final release?!? lame. and futile. Wow a whole 5 years and you have gained two times more fans than basically any other game and made a successful game series without making it all corny and over dramatized. A big thumbs up bungie and HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALO.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, hypothetical question for those of you telling people to go buy a 360. I own a 360, I also own an original Xbox. I do not however, play H2 on the 360 because of the problems with the backwards compatability and the awful controllers. I will not play H2 on my 360 even with new maps. Microsoft has the same ability they had with the map packs to release them to the entire community via downloadable content, why not? Your loyal customers for years are now getting the shaft just because they loved your first system, pretty ******* shady to me. Thanks for caring about your customers. Any mods who read this can you please give some details and clarifications that you may have, that we dont? I'm also looking for an email where I can show Bungie/MS my super special appreciation for my years of being a Xbox customer and not even owning a PS. We as a community will make sure you stay in business because in all honesty, we are addicted. Our addiction is YOUR video games, why do you think you need to make more money off someone who's already hooked? You know what happens to drug dealers when they try that? They lose their customer base to cheaper dealers. I can deal with playing socom on a ps if it means I'm not getting raped.

[i]Thats sweet ah a few things i want to talk about is halo 3 is gona be sweet for sure another is about the H2 maps have em put on a CD like your guys did last time for those that havent quite goten past the omish ages without XBL (not me) and the H2 Vista is gona be sweet especially with the map editor cause every chance i get with a map editor from any game i make tons of maps (hint hint) and last are you guys still gona have that crappy orange reflection on the MC's head cause thats just bs do it like it was to in halo 2 with the mirror reflection that was awesome. Hey dip-blam!- Nappy Al, ps3 doesnt come out till -blam!-ing tommarow. Go -blam!-ing shoot yourself. And yeah the ps3 is technically better but not worth $200 more. Oh yeah, so now because companies are "marketing" you arent supposed to buy their stuff? So......your saying the ps3 isn't marketing? And about the ONLY way the xbox 360 is going to sell is if "mommy and daddy buy it for you. And i dont think bungie is soooo woried about people switching to the ps3 when hundreds of thousands of people are still playing their game on xbox live more than a year after the launch. So for the people who have original xbox, your -blam!- outta luck because bungie wants you to go out and spend your hard earned money on a new system because they are afraid xbox users are gonna transfer to sony. wow - in the same article we are coined "halo nation" we find out that half of our "nation" that made this game the success it is are being betrayed by not being able to play new content for the game we bought because we own the system it was designed to be played on.

Ok!? I realize i'm not a real active member of the Forum Community, but everytime i get on here there seems to be some "fan" who seems to think that they have the Ultimate Feedback. Why all the negative messages? Why all the whining like little spoiled babies? Why haven't these complainers recieved the love they need at home as immature, I-Live-In-My-Parents-Basement-And-Have-Never-Done-Anything-For-Myself, fools? No one cares that your not going to buy a 360! Have fun playing Drake of the 99 Dragons on your old Xbox. Cause we all know, games on the 360 will never be that awesome. I'm assuming Bungie is looking at this forum as a place for excitement and (if you must) constructive critiques. Please! Be happy that there are games such as the Halo series out there. I am, and i'm very excited for anything new from Bungie. I like well-crafted video games. I don't care if it's on a new system or not, things evolve and thus bringing about new and better systems. Lets all be mature, and enjoy games.

But the people who have a love and respect for the art that is Halo, they base such desicions on love, not shalow graphics. if games actually looked like reality, ppl wouldnt play them, least not as many. thats the beauty of games, we dont want reality. We want fantasy. Halo is an XBOX game. The PS3 has its icon, and the XBOX has its icon. neither are better except in the eyes of the fans.

I cannot wait until the BETA, it is a great idea to help weed out the cheats before they start. Also the commercial should be amazing as all Halo videos are and I must say happy 5 years Halo! Its been an AMAZING 5 and I cant wait for the next 5.

actually com to think about it i bet the new maps hav a few surprises, and they are probly meant to be played in HD or sumthin, although i think that the origanal XBOX is becoming otdated, as many owners have theirs explode after YEARS of use, many are just springing for the 360, and i think Microsoft is tryin to leave te origanal XBOX behind. not being a huge player of the original XBOX, i still kno that it supports HD, for example Ninja Guiden was HD, and it looked like sum of the 360 games, so i think they need to integrat the 2 xboxs with a firmware updat for the old(and possibly new) so that its all happy.

Peopl are impressed, I care less. I will never buy a 360. Period. First I read that you guys were making Halo 2 for Vista, and I knew Microsoft had you buy the "no-nos". Only reason that IT MUST COME OUT ON VISTA is so they can sell that OS. Plain and simple. Without you, Xbox would've died. So they look to you guys to make sure Vista won't bomb. It'll run on XP just fine, but you say it won't, when clearly when you were first programming the graphics and coding Halo 2 up years ago for Xbox, Vista wasn't out. Wasn't even called Vista. Longhorn was the name, and you guys most likely coded the game in XP, or heck, even 2000. Who knows...Therefore, H2V should really be H2XP, because the original was was made and tested on the older OS, and then coded to the Xbox version and encrypted and what-not. It worked then, it should work now. But I figure I'll just rip Vista somehow, just like my XP I have on my PC. I kinda got over it. But then to read that you guys are making maps for H2, which, lets remind everyone, and, hmm..lets remind you guys since you must've forgotten somehow...that Halo 2 was made for Xbox, and the last time you guys tried to do something that would work with 360...crapped out (I'm looking at you Backwash). You're doing the same thing with Microsoft again. Halo 3 is eventually coming out, but with the lack of sales that the 360 has, especially with two other competitors FINALLY stepping in, Microsoft is getting scared and wants, NO, NEEDS something from the only good company that has made anything worth playing, to suck more people into buying their system. I'm ashamed to know you guys. I regret buying your games now. I regret that I ever had faith in you, for everytime you guys try and "do something nice", you let down a good sized chunk of your fan base, and without us, you'd have died aloooong time ago. Thanks. I'm pawning, wait...no I think I'll just give away my copy of Halo 2. the OS has a whole new chassis for gods sake its practcly a new OS and that ******* dare speak like that?!?!? yes its a bummer that its not gunna run on XP cuz Vista is gunna be expensive, but lets face it, Windows is finally about to finnish the goddamn OS race with vista. so they have to do that. and as for using halo 2 vista to protect microsofts money, THIS IS WINDOWS WE ARE TALKIN ABOUT!!!!
