Consoles are the true master race(I'm not trolling)
Before you reply and call me an idiot(inb4 notice), hear me out. A console can become dated over time, sure. But what else they offer makes them better:
Returns:I can currently return a game I purchased for a partial refund. With a PC, most of the stuff is digital, making this null and void. And before you whine about Steam having sales, remember that there are more digital services to choose from.
Less Piracy:It is much easier to pirate a game on a PC then a console. According to the law, this is a bad thing.
Game Cooperation Guarantee:I can buy an Xbox and every game I purchase for it is guaranteed to work perfectly. With a PC, I have to sometimes chance it because the game may not work too well on average settings. Before you say "check the specs u noob," remember that I don't want to spend a million years memorizing what each individual component of my PC is and exactly what it does and how to best upgrade it.
Graphics Are Not All That Better:You guys say that the graphics on a PC are better, but I see little difference. Two or three more specks of dirt per square inch, but that's it. And before you call the consoles awful at graphics, check out Halo 4.

Noire was one sale for $5 these past few days. Superior pricing. 2.) I don't care about piracy. Game companies care about it. 3.) Write down your components. 4.) They're better. Halo 4 textures suck. Lighting is good. Particle effects are meh. Physics aren't very good. Lacking AA. Bilinear texture filtering. Animations are good. And finally....DirectX 9. Now that's out of the way, I like consoles and halo 4. I was just pointing out the flaws in the graphics department. The other points aren't wrong, but I still believe PC is far superior. Just expensive as balls.

I used to be a console gamer, but i've ALWAYS wanted to be a pc gamer ( the old computer we had just couldn't run anything). I only just started getting into pc gaming gaming when my xbox -blam!- up (I was obsessed with the pc star wars games when i was little, but im not counting when i didnt understand it all then) and i just bought 12 month live, never buying anything for a console again. That happened around the middle of 2012. PC IS better, I've had more fun playing arma 2, planetside 2 and shogun 2 in the short time i've been playing them, then the whole three years i was playing console. There so much more you can do on pc, mods that increase the fun and keep you playing and are so easy to get, the variety of games on pc is amazing. I could not go back to playing consoles even if I tried, the games are ALL TO SIMILAR. Mouse and keyboard (for me) is easier to aim and shoot, controllers feel to large and clumsy. PC gaming (for me) Is so much better and enjoyable. I'm currently getting parts together for my own gaming pc although im not too confident on building it myself.

In terms of the actual gaming, PCs are definitely more customizable and have better high performance graphics, but are generally more expensive. More bang, but more buck. Consoles are a little lower-tech, but they're more "jump in and play" style, still without giving up THAT much performance. In terms of Community, they both suck, but in different ways. Consoles more often have stupid "im tuffer than u and ur a -blam!- noob ha u loser" folk, and PCs are more inclined to have "XD PC GAMES MASTER RACE <3 TF2 MINECRAFT N RAINBOW DASH!!", which is pretty annoying. (Not summarizing either community though.) Equal. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

Since when is not liking starcraft mean someone doesn't like RTS games as a whole? I played AoE when it first came out and still play it from time to time.

People are entitled to their opinions and preferences, that I will not argue. If you prefer consoles over PC then fine. But to say that consoles are superior to PCs is completely and absolutely wrong. The truth is undeniable (when actually looked at from a serious and rational standpoint). PCs have the edge in nearly every category, but again, if you prefer consoles then that's fine. [Edited on 01.03.2013 6:59 PM PST]

For example, I would prefer to play some console games with a mouse, and key board. but on the other hand, I would like to play some computer games with a controller (which I can). Consoles have lots of things backing them, and PC gaming has a lot of things backing it. All in all, there are tones of factors that people like and dislike at the end of the day its preference.

The money you save from steam sales, and the overall lower cost of PC games easily offsets the "high" start up cost that gets everybody's panties all twisted. This alone makes PC the master race. And piracy isn't bad. [Edited on 01.03.2013 6:51 PM PST]

You literally have no idea how big the graphical differences between consoles and PC can be. It's more than just a few specs of dirt. We're talking twice the texture resolution, more things happening at once, faster frame rates etc etc. PCs are FAR superior in graphical terms.

And you shouldn't get a gaming PC. For most people, a console is a great option; one intitial investment, free firmware updates and patches, and generally solid-running games. um, learning what your specs is not that hard, you can usually just Google : can my computer play [insert game title here]. also, nvidia offers to maximize your gpu settings within their site; you just select the gpu you have, and the title of the game

Dude, then either have a poor mouse or an old one that uses pointer acceleration. Or your drivers are slow/outdated. Can't fault you for going away from the lag though; PC gaming is expensive and requires more matinence than consoles.
