Thoughts on Resident Evil 6. *SPOILERS*

Alright, I finally finished Resident Evil 6, and I was deeply disappointed Ada did not have an ending herself. My favourite campaign was probably Leon's and Jake's/Ada. I absolutely hated Chris's, except the last bit. I used Helena in it all the way through because I like her. Ada's campaign was fun also, just disappointed it didn't have an after credits ending. She has been hired for a new job. I can see her making an appearance in the next RE, but I really want Jill and Claire the most. The ending of RE6 after beating all the campaigns shows Jake fighting what looks like more B. O. W. S. So does that mean Jake is possible once again for the next RE? Remember his line saying he will not become like his father. There was a lot of deja vu in this game. I love the idea of multiple campaigns to find out where everyone ends up, but I mean come on. Chapter 5 in all the campaigns, (Ada chapter 4) have those immortal B.O.W.S chasing you while you find stuff. It was quite a stupid idea. I also did not like the fact that there were repeated fights. It is cool and all but I hope it is different next re game. I want different campaigns once again, but this time I want Capcom to make it better, and not give us a case of total deja vu. Anybody feel the same way? Did there really have to be a driving sequence every campaign? Carla Radames..... ahahah what a mind**** The way they showed this Ada clone was quite brilliant, because it had me confused for a bit. I know Ada isn't necessarily evil or good, but she is wise. That is all I have to say really. I enjoyed the game, but it had much potential to be better. Chris's campaign was a bore. [Edited on 01.03.2013 6:03 PM PST]

  • I was disappointed as well that Ada's campaign didn't have an actual ending. As for the Campaign's it went Ada>Jake>Leon>Chris for me. I enjoyed how Ada's campaign dropped you in and out of the other Campaigns, mostly without them being aware of this (did this apply to coop as well? I've wondered since I've joined other people's games if they knew I was there or not). Chris's campaign was meh (had almost no ammo the 1st time I fought that crazy B.O.W. after Piers evolved took forever because I had to be perfect with shots) but the other two were great.

  • I was a good game untill the fact of how many QTE's are in the game hit me. But those were small gripes, like wtf? I cannot just just the l-stick to climb, but I gotta mash buttons.

I remember playing the demo and laughing at how the camera angles were RE1-tier at times, and the fact the Chris campaign was essentially MW2. I'll probably buy it for the Leon campaign, but only when it goes down to $10 or so.

In the first one you had to point and ram into the wall or cover you want to get behind. I meant most as in people who generally, just play games that are popular because of friends and never even tried any of the Resident Evil games. There is a lesser demand to play Resident Evil. I care about Resident Evil, too. I have been playing since the first one.
Right, I remember it. Its just that for some reason I read that as ME3. You've been playing since 98? Was it 98? Dafuq? Buy RE6 now! Maybe 30 bucks used.
Sorry, I meant the one remake on the gamecube in 2002. I played RE2 after that and so on. I was going to skip RE6 because of the reviewers and it was getting bad reviews all around. Will I miss out on anything if I buy it used? Like a online pass?
Oh, but not buying it because of the dumb reviews? Well what reviews did you saw? I saw game informer, OXM, IGN among others and they gave it like an 8. They basically said it was good. I am aware that RE6 got mixed reviews, not bad ones across the board. But no, you wont miss an online pass. Just 3 mercenaries stages will be missing since you didnt preorder it and didnt get one. One from gamestop, amazon and best buy I believe. That is stupid but 3 are available. And you can get the other ones for a dollar each now. [Edited on 01.03.2013 8:55 PM PST]

  • Resident Evil 6 deserves every low review score. It has rightfully earned it's place as the second worst Resident Evil game, and the worst Resident Evil game not counting the spin-offs. The story has taken a turn for the worse, putting people to sleep with it's terrible plot development and characters. The cannon fodder Helena, Piers, Jake, and Sherry were absolutely irrelevant and unnecessary. Not only that, but Leon and Chris' have degenerated into second hand stars themselves. The gameplay is the least enjoyable in the series, and this is not coming from nostalgia in any way. Leon's gameplay was endurable and was right on the money. Chris' gameplay on the other hand belongs in generic third person shooters like Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I also believe that Resident Evil 6 tried way too hard to bring back the coop from Resident Evil 5. Although it is better than the babysitting nonsense in Resident Evil 4, it is still forced. Mercenaries is fun as always, but the customization is lacking. I have not tried the multiplayer component. All in all Resident Evil 6 deserves a 6.5/10. Nothing more, nothing less.

I was like wtf. This never happened with the other campaigns, but when I was fighting beast and tyranno simmons as Ada, it happened for some odd reason. Ada's definitely has to be played last to understand it imo. With the last ending, does it imply that Carla still spread bioterrorism even if Ada destroyed it "completely?"

They'd be considered completely boring and out of date for this gaming generation. Old fans may buy them, but eventually they'd get sick of the same type of gameplay and chances are they wouldn't attract any new gamers. Nobody wants to play a slow paced game anymore. Sure, they could have added more horror (like I said before, the game would have been amazing if they made all of it like Leon's first chapter), but it definitely isn't a 6.5/10 compared to the majority of games today. You're just comparing it too much to the older ones, rather than actually looking at it for what it is; like every other reviewer which gave it a low score. Resident evil is now a 3 person co-op shooter with a BIT of horror, that's it. Take it or leave it. If you didn't like 5, why on EARTH would you buy 6 or continue to buy them? They're not going to go back to 1, 2, 3, CV, etc.

  •
Posted by: Mikelp_1 I didn't bother; maybe I will when I can get the game for under $20. Side note, if you look at the cover art right, the 6 looks like a man administering oral sex to a giraffe.
Well this sure is awkward. My friend was telling me this the other day. Ugh, I still like the art though.
