I'm curious. Isn't bumping against.forum rules? So why not just play itnoff and quote someone instead of pretty much showing everyone that you intentionally bumped the thread?

Ah, but some people get vcreative and they link this GIF with the post.

Bring Up My Post

Bumpity bump bump bumpity bump bump Look at that Frosty go Bumpity bump bump bumpity bump bump Over the hills of snow

I think its better when they just say bump, its more irritating seeing one person quote someone else a ton of times on each page to bump their thread. Your not fooling anyone so you might as well just say bump over and over

This thread should be pinned or locked. It should either never die or be murdered.

No matter how cleverly I bump my threads, they never reach hottopic. My most recent warning was also for Bumping improperly, too.
Posted by: x Foman123 x Wrong on both counts. Under your theory, an OP like you could keep a thread alive infinitely long even if nobody else were to ever respond to it. Any reply you make in a thread should be an on-topic reply to another user's post who posted after the last time that you did. This is the only rule of thumb we have ever given for bumping, and any post that is not within this guideline is most likely a bump.
Posted by: Arbiter 739 CONTEXT:
Warning Text: You have been sent a warning from x Foman123 x. This warning's text is below: A Bungie.net Forum Moderator has warned you for violating the code of conduct and/or rules of the forum in the thread below. Further violations will likely result in a ban. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=75724946 Don't bump this thread anymore, please.
I know this is a minor thing, but I'd like to get it clarified. Now I was under the impression that: A) Replying to a thread within a reasonable timeframe (3hr, 11min in the first post) is acceptable. B) Replying to a "dead" thread with new information relevant to the topic is acceptable. What exactly did I do wrong here? I thought what I did here was perfectly ok. Your right. I propose every time someone bumps a thread they say "-blam!-". But isn't bumping threads frowned upon anyway? [Edited on 11.20.2012 3:39 PM PST]
Posted by: HundredJono
Posted by: Good News its an acronym for "Bump Up My Post"
#BUMP
A recursive acronym you mean. GET IT RIGHT

That's actually how I got my first ban. xD
-
I'm always too scared to post in my own threads in case people think I'm deliberately bumping.
-
Because they're stupid.
Posted by: Arbiter 739 No matter how cleverly I bump my threads, they never reach hottopic. My most recent warning was also for Bumping improperly, too.
Their is a proper way to bump a thread? Oh wait bumping is against the rules. Also that really wasn't clever it was pretty obvious as I stated before no matter how you bump a thread it is obvious which is why it is pointless to do.

I don't bump threads by posting "bump". Only idiots do that.
