So what do you guys think of the series so far?
I like it a lot and I look forward to seeing the next episodes and to see where they are going to take it and I like how they are done. Yes there is little things here and there. The guys are all young actors as well, but I think they are doing a good job so far.
So yeah what are your guys opinions?

I love the series thus far, though the only complaint I have is the body language Chief has. It's just... off.
-
I'm lovin it.
-
Really bad, cannon completly destroyed. I dislike everything so far, 343 keeps destroying the epicness I used to know of Halo.
-
What I don't like is 343 putting "their" Elites in this time period of the lore. The Spec Ops Elites look like the ones from the Storn rather than the ones from the Covenant. I think it goes against what the Covenant really should look like. While it had great effects, I just don't like how instead of having "regular" Covenant armour, 343 swapped in their "Storm" armour as if the Covenant had used that all along.

With the appearance of MC this whole thing just got a whole lot better. Makes me think that it is actually going somewhere.
Posted by: Juan Teran So far, I'm enjoying it. One of the problems I have is John's Mark IV armor, seriously, it's just plain weird. So we have this awesome armor design, next time we can upgrade it, let's dumb it down (Mark V), and if we happen to upgrade the armor again, let's recycle the old design (Mark VI), and we might as well just add their respective number in the armor, just because we can. I didn't mind it so much back in "The Package", but now it just happens to be canon. Then what happened to Halsey? Awww... -blam!- it, a wizard did it. And yes, I'm just nitpicking, this won't ruin the series for me, that's for sure. Overall, I feel the main leads are likeable, though I can't say the same of the secondary characters, except for Frankie, made me laugh when he appeared.
It became bulky because of the added shield tech. I believe they say that in The Fall of Reach, once they refined it, Mark VI. Mark IV armor didn't have energy shields. [Edited on 10.20.2012 10:06 PM PDT]
Posted by: Plasma Prestige It's not perfect, but nonetheless, 343i has something special here. Something I feel all other forms of Halo media have failed to convey is the horror the Covenant presented to humanity. They were an unknown with much more sophisticated technology with the intent and ability to wipe out humanity. While some books and Reach in particular tried to convey this, they all failed in the end because it all came down to shooting cartoonish aliens that sounded funny. The third episode of Forward Unto Dawn perfectly captures the horror element. 343i really has something going for them. Given better actors, a bigger budget, and better writing, a Halo movie could really succeed. The key is to focus on a specific time in the canon rather than trying to explore everything, and keeping it focused on the characters rather than the action.
Yeah they really captured it with the Bodies falling down from the elevator i wasn't expecting something like that and how big they made the elite was awesome. Yeah I agree with that also I hope a movie is made someday. [Edited on 10.20.2012 8:21 PM PDT]

I love seeing the Halo universe being brought to life through other forms of media besides games.

I'm loving FuD, kudos to 343 for really taking the Halo lore to heart. We're supposed to be seeing more than just John someone mentioned? link to source? [Edited on 10.20.2012 1:17 AM PDT]

For example the rest of Blue team in Forward Unto Dawn are sporting what we aesthetically recognize as the variant of Mk V armor introduced in Reach as seen here While likely a budget issue, it could canonically be argued that so long as the armor system shown here didn't have the range of suites available to the Mk V armors, chief among them being energy shields, it is still a variant of Mk IV armor. But like you said there is always little stuff to nitpick for everyone.
Posted by: the real Janaka
Posted by: EZcompany2ndsqd The statue was an ancient spartan,Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, and they replaced his weapon with an assault rifle.
I know who it is supposed to represent, I just thought that it was understandable that DJK might have mistaken the Roman General for an Ancient Spartan, seeing as they are well established in the Haloverse. But then I started questioning whether or not he implyed that it was contemporary Spartan, cause of the AR...
Ohh I gotcha sorry I miss read your questions sorry.
Posted by: TheSpiderChief
Posted by: EZcompany2ndsqd Also I can't find anything about a spartan-114 so I don't know who that is.
Spartan 104 it said. That Spartan is Fred. So it looks like I was right. If Fred is in it then it looks like Kelly will make an appearance as well. -blam!- just got real. But it was kind of obvious that the blonde woman (forget her name) was going to die as soon as she ran off to the space elevator.
Yeah I would see the wrong number somehow... Thats awesome I'm excited to see them in it more. Yeah I knew she was going to die too and they call here Dimah, but here name is Katerina Katelieva I think.
