Not little green men, but a fossilized coral reef, which may or may not even be fossilized yet.
Was discovered when Curiosity found evidence of a once waist-deep streamline.

*sigh* I was actually getting very excited...
-
I'm skeptical about this.
-
I like it how people are posting things that they think the curiosity discovered. We already know that micro-organisms are on mars and we know there was water on mars too.
-
Another news story on that site "Is David Icke a reptile?" Seems legit.
-
Posted by: SHOTTY SNIP3R We already know that micro-organisms are on mars
We do? I didn't know that. I was under the impression that any definitive proof of life on Mars we didn't inadvertently send there would be huge news.
-
Still misleading title. I was thinking they found some bacteria
-
well damn, It's looking fake, I was really excited for a second.
-
"Life on Mars discovered..." "In OTHER news, religion is stupid!" Legit news source, bud.
Posted by: x Foman123 x
Posted by: DaBatman92 Here is an article from Huffington Post about it. It doesn't mention that it is specifically a fossil, but again, they just found the thing yesterday, and the huffington post article is from yesterday. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/09/mars-rover-curiosity-scoops-surface-bright-object_n_1950643.html
And you don't see how this could result in a fake news story on a fake internet news website? Come on man.
Why you will all ways be my favorite mod

Space fish?
-
Pretty sure it's fake. Read the comments. Someone did a backwards search of the picture and found them elsewhere.

Good ol huffington post strikes again.

Curiosity hasn't tweeted anything, I'd think it would be bigger news if this was actually real. Also that image they used is captioned "I did a science! 1st contact science on rock target Jake. Here's an action shot" on Curiosities twitter page. [Edited on 10.09.2012 12:05 PM PDT]
Posted by: DarkestSeptagon They found a fossil. Not a currently living organism.
It was a living organism.
-
Posted by: x Foman123 x Extremely sketchy link. Extremely sketchy story. Will wait for confirmation from a real news source.
I feel like this would have been posted by NASA, the government, or at least on the Curiosity Twitter feed. Ske7ch.
-
>is a .su link. seems legit.
-
Apparently it's a hoax, my parent's seem to think that the website is full of -blam!-. I'm not sure what to think, because no other major news paper has reported on it yet...
-
Posted by: RockdaleRooster Well, that's more than I had expected them to find. I expected it to be single cell organisms or something like that. NVM it's fake. Still wouldn't be terribly surprised if they found some single cell organism.
I still think I remember in a book I saw in the Library that there was a meteor that landed on Earth that had Fossils of microscopic organisms in it. It was a non-fiction science book.
-
OP said it wasn't fake guis, so it's not fake.
-
Sounds fake; will wait for official NASA announcement

I GUESS DAVID BOWIE WAS RIGHT
-
Partial confirmation. However, they think it might be a piece of the rover that broke off. Sorry, but the OP's link is fake as hell. I tend not to trust websites with N@zi symbols on them. The stereotypical baptist rantings are just the icing on the cake.
