My name is Jake and I like Nickelback and Matchbox 20.
In the minds of others, I have the worst music taste ever. I like Matchbox 20, Nickelback, Backstreet Boys and Savage Garden, to name a few. I've never seen the hate, especially about Nickelback. They're no worse than any other band, IMO. Same with Matchbox 20 (Which their new album is pretty awesome, by the way) and the others.
What do you listen to that 'most' people 'look down' on?

Well, this one time I told this guy I liked John Fahey, and he mocked me for not preferring Leo Kottke. He told me I sucked, and that his tastes were better. I've never seen the hate, especially about John Fahey. He's no worse than any other fingerpicker, IMO. Nickelback has some good songs, I just hate how they write the same song over and over and over just with a different riff and how its the same singles over and over.

People hate Matchbox 20? As for Nickelback, I like some of their songs, don't have a keen interest on the band though.

I really dislike Nickleback and Matchbox 20. Just not my taste. I listen to Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal,etc which I guess alot non-listeners would look down on it. [Edited on 09.13.2012 8:04 AM PDT]

Matchbox 20 are okay, I didn't even realise people hated them. Backstreet Boys are cool in a cheesy way.

I like two Nickelback songs, and nearly every Matchbox Twenty song. Matchbox Twenty's new album is number 1 in US and Australia right now. I was unaware anybody hated them.

Most of the music I listen to is too obscure for anyone to 'look down' on it...I think I'm a hipster without even consciously trying to be. But I guess some people look down on MUSE, and they're my favorite band.
