Still don't think we need gun control?

The Sikh Temple Shooter was Generally Discharged from the Army, was a well known white supremist who had 2 bands, both featuring songs of genocideing jews and etc, had 2 DUIs and a Criminal Mischief charge. He was still able to purchase a firearm legally, with a background check. Really? Call me crazy but who on earth says "Hey this racist redneck has a couple of DUIs, why sure i'll let him have a gun"

 •
Posted by: n00b 0f d00m ****************************** ****************************** ******************************
It's strange you know... It seems all those reports state that the people committing those atrocities are all at "THE END OF THE ROAD" and had no intention of continuing on. With that being said.. whats to stop a psycho like that? They are literally without fear at that point! Certainly no law is going to alter the way a person who is in that state behaves. When you are face to face with an individual who is basically a Jason Vorheese and on a mass execution run, How many ways can you think of to stop him... In a gun free zone?

 • So if you make guns illegal, what is stopping the people, who get there guns illegally in the first place, and intend on harming someone? The people who are going to murder people with guns aren't going to really care if they break another law getting the gun. It's the same thing with drugs. Tell me, out of all you people in Anti-Gun countries, would go out and buy a gun and shoot everyone one you saw if they made owning a gun legal?

 •
Posted by: TwiggyShip You can't deny that the laws are a little lax when Holmes bought 6,000 rounds with so much as a pay-pal payment. Surely someone should be monitoring for purchases like that.
you realize that isn't a lot of ammo right? it was mostly cheap as s*** birdshot(typically $5/25 anywheres) and pistol ammo. had it not been for his sh***y AR-15 and jammomatic Beta-C mag, he would have killed more

You see all of those edgy photos on Facebook and Tumblr with visual customization so it looks all dark and grey with usually some teenager, mostly girls, who pose with guns pointing them at the camera with the finger on the trigger or against their head thinking it's so 'deep', makes me disgusted. People need to be informed, guns aren't toys.

Just imagine a guy running around shanking people. He wouldnt get too far. And I could better defend myself against a knife.
i dont know if you know this but
Hungerford massacre Main article: Hungerford massacre In 1987, 27-year-old Michael Ryan, armed with two semi-automatic rifles (a Type 56 sporter, and an M1 carbine), and a Beretta 92 pistol, dressed in combat fatigues and proceeded around the town of Hungerford killing 16 people, wounding fifteen and shooting himself, in what became known as the Hungerford massacre. In the aftermath, the Conservative government passed the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988.[43] This confined semi-automatic and pump-action centre-fire rifles, military weapons firing explosive ammunition, short shotguns that had magazines, and both elevated pump-action and self-loading rifles to the Prohibited category.[44] Registration and secure storage of shotguns held on Shotgun Certificates became required, and shotguns with more than a 2+1 capacity came to need a Firearm Certificate. The law also introduced new restrictions on shotguns. Rifles in .22 rimfire and semi-automatic pistols were unaffected. [edit]Dunblane massacre Main article: Dunblane massacre On 13 March 1996, Thomas Hamilton, aged 43, a former scout leader who had been ousted by The Scout Association five years previously, shot dead sixteen young children and their teacher, Gweneth Mayor, in Dunblane Primary School's gymnasium with two Browning Hi-Power 9 mm pistols and two S&W .357 Magnum revolvers. He then shot himself. There is a memorial to the seventeen victims in the local cemetery and a cenotaph in the cathedral. The funds raised in the aftermath of the tragedy have been used to build a new community centre for the town. It was later shown that the gun controls in place at the time were adequate, but failures by the police to properly apply these controls allowed the tragedy.[45] [edit]Cumbria shootings Main article: Cumbria shootings On 2 June 2010, Derek Bird, a 52 year old taxi driver, shot and killed 12 people and injured 11 others while driving through Cumbria. He then shot himself. A licensed firearms holder, Bird's weapons were a 12 gauge double-barreled shotgun and CZ 452-2E ZKM .22-calibre bolt-acton rifle.
you really wrong

I remember one story from here in California where this man drove his car through a crowded farmers market. I don't remember how many died, but it was a few. The fact is, there are other options available, far more efficient options too. The worst school killing in American history was committed by a man with dynamite.

When was it, last year that some jack ass went on a shooting spree with a handgun in the UK? There is a strange correlation with these mass shootings. •
Posted by: SpartanMk18 I've seen it, and it made me sick. She had a .38 revolver and was protecting her stores of food. The Police and Army had standing orders to look for people still in the city, if anyone responded to their calls, to kick in their doors, and take their guns. All this while bands of looters were going door to door looking for food and valuables. That little old lady wanted to protect her property and was punched in the face as a result. Yes, I agree, gun control would work on Law Abiding Citizens. Many would give up our guns if the Government asked, I can grantee you that. But then that's only working on the people who were legally owning guns. Why should someone who bought their gun on the black market, or stole it even care about gun confiscation?
It's her fault it happened to her! She lived in that city and she was there after the disaster struck! She could have moved to a new home before the disaster! I like the one account of where the guy and his neighbor packed their supplies up and left.. Then they were pulled over and the peace keepers smashed the guns on the sidewalk, including the gun that was his neighbors GRANDFATHERS gun, one she inherited as a family keepsake. Such nice and wonderful stories! They sound so wonderful.. Kind of makes you wish it would happen everywhere! Here is a bit of info for you to put some thought into: I wonder what would have happened if a criminal would have stepped up and TURNED IN HIS BLACK MARKET, NO NUMBER, STOLEN FIREARM to the authorities?

 •
Posted by: Twisted Balls
Posted by: theHurtfulTurkey What on Earth would a DUI have to do with the ability to purchase a weapon? On top of that, why do his opinions, which are protected under the 1st Amendment, disqualify him?
Logic like this is why America is the way it is. You give a racist who talks about genocide a gun, and then say, "Well the first amendment makes it okay." Man it's hard to take people like this seriously.
I would rather have people who have radical political and social views who haven't committed any crimes have the right to have a gun than having a Big Brother state which decides that having a opinion which isn't supported by the state is a criminal offense. I don't care if the -blam!- or Black Panther member has a firearm, unless he isn't plotting some scheme to kill people or harming others I think it's ok. The biggest problem with your ideology is that it can get carried away, one day people who belong to a radical political views or belongs to a radical and extremist political or religious group might have some rights and privileges taken away, next day anyone which doesn't follow the government is treated the same.

Also, I think that was the only Norway shooting in recent history. And knife wounds are usually easy to fix. Depending on the bullet, it could rip your insides due to fragmentation.
