...in my parent's garage as we were cleaning it out. My mother wanted (and still wants) to throw them out, but I've convinced her to let me keep them. It's a pretty complete set, and I think it's a bit of cool memorabilia, especially considering that they're all in good shape (some weren't even taken out of the packaging). As I was organizing them, I noticed a large amount of Bungie coverage in them, from advertisements to a Myth II demo disk (tempted to test it). Very interesting to see how influential Bungie was on the Macintosh before the Microsoft buyout. Plus I got a Myth II poster.
Just something I thought I'd share with the community.

Updated with additional pics. I'm assuming this is okay due to the magazine (or at least these particular issues) no longer being officially distributed/in circulation. If anyone knows different please tell me so I can adjust the uploaded material appropriate.
Posted by: mvyorkie009
Posted by: stosh Don't throw them out! That was my favorite magazine in the 90s. Bungie had some pretty funny ads on a bunch of the backcovers.
question, for you that would be nice for the OP. could he mail one on and have a couple of you guys sign it that worked on those games that the AD is on? yorkie
I certainly wouldn't object to that.

Wow, talk about bringing back childhood memories. I remember spending countless hours fiddling around with MacAddict disks. Those were the days.

Updated with additional pics. If you can't read the first sentence at the top of "For the kids," it says "Of course, we couldn't hear a word they said."

The original Action Sack! Hahaha that's good stuff you got there, Ted. That poster was badass.
Posted by: cortana 5 I recognize quite a few of those advertisements. This page has larger versions of them. I haven't subscribed to a gaming magazine in years but I do miss those kind of ads. I have a bunch of old Gamepro magazines that I saved when they had games I liked or owned in them, there always used to be really cool ads for games in there. [Edited on 06.21.2012 7:41 AM PDT]
Posted by: AutobahnRacer I didn't have a Mac, nor was I gamer around the time of Marathon and Myth, so the only old-school Bungie advertisements that I recall seeing were Oni-related. I remember seeing this ad in a number of various gaming magazines. That advertisement convinced me, a gullible seven year old, that Oni was the best game of all time and I just had to have it. I sold most of my other PS2 games and saved for two months just so I could buy it. That style of advertising was influential and had class. It's a shame that you don't see ads like that in this day and age.
awwwwwwww :3 Now Onu sells for $2.00 with the case and manual.

I'm sure it's ok. If was a problem, your pictures of the covers would have been removed.

Does anyone know the legality of posting pics of the inside pages?
-
Those are pretty cool! Definitely keepsakes, so don't throw them out.

Those are amazing. I'm so jealous, I want zem. Oh and screw you, 2D!!! Mwahaha!!!
Posted by: SharkTooth__
Posted by: Gamer Whale Cool! And as said, Bungie should start doing that kinds of ads again. Who cares what ESRB and PEGI say! =P
Haha! That would be an excellent marketing plan just because of how different it would be compared to other adds.
Going trough that page that was linked here, found this. Pay attention to the small text... EDIT: Apparently "this one didn't get around much"... EDIT2: Hey OP, can you get a bigger picture of the ad with 3 body bags? (Or does someone know a link that already exists...) EDIT3: nvm, found it. [Edited on 06.19.2012 11:38 AM PDT]
