I mean, they made her all.. sexified. i mean, bigger boobs, dark hair and dark lips? i for one don't like it. She was never supposed to have any sex appeal in my opinion and to go and give her that kind of makeover was really just unnecessary, probably just a ploy to sell the game to a wider audience. And i'm pissed, because she was my favorite character. She's like the girl next door who was your best friend until she changed herself for an audience who won't even appreciate her for who she is.
Hot Cortana is bad.

You shouldn't compare in game screenshots of Cortana up against a digital illustration.
-
I just feel she does not look good anymore. She looked the best in Halo 2 in my humble opinion. Something about her new appearance just seems off to me.
-
I thought she was supposed to look like Halsey a bit? No?
-
She looks cooler now. I like it.
Posted by: ICanHazRecon911 She's gross.
This is pretty much how I feel, but about Cortana. She didn't need the overhaul she got. Unless of course, it ties into the story. I won't like it, but I'll accept it. Umm, Cortana was already 'sexified'. If she was never meant to have sex appeal then Bungie was doing it wrong.
Posted by: NebuchadnezzaRT Cortana has changed every game, as evidenced by your link. Although her new appearance may seem to invoke sex appeal (Didnt Jason Jones call Cortana "everyone's dream girlfriend?) Personally I think she is trying to model herself to look more human to appeal to John, or is trying to achieve humanity, being driven mad by her AI limitations. Or, 343i could just be trying to show their new ownership of the series.
Here's to no F****** the robot (pulling a Joker)

I like the Halo 3 cortana better than all the rest.

Well it seems to me a lot of people have mixed feelings about Cortana, honestly I don't see anything wrong so far. Its been mentioned already in this thread but not really payed attention to, what everyone is comparing Cortana to in Halo 4 is concept art. I can't see any reason to judge between the Cortanas, I adjusted to each iteration without much trouble, no reason to start now.
Posted by: flamedude Personally I quite like the new look Cortana, if anything its the only believable makeover in H4 that could be justified by lore. I am much more concerned by the weird makeovers of the Elites and Grunts and even the Master Chief's Mk VI (which I actually like by the way). It's hard to take a sci-fi seriously when the aesthetic is something in constant flux, it would be like the Millennium Falcon changing in every Star Wars film without reason and us viewers being expected to just roll with it. I understand that H4 is sort of a reboot by 343i but I just don't understand why they felt it merited one. A jump forward in time in the Halo universe helps justify new weapons and factions but it doesn't justify the Chief completely changing or Grunts changing their physiology. Personally for me the biggest disappointment is the Warthog. Beforehand it has been a trusty and beautifully designed vehicle that looked like a human design but with futuristic suspension linkages underneath (the wheel arms) but for some reason 343i felt it needed redesigning so that the suspension has been replaced by double-wishbone suspension instead. Double-wishbone suspension was designed in the 1930s, and it just looks unoriginal and dull compared to the wheel arms of the classic Warthog.
Elites and Grunts changes are explained by lore, in Glasslands we're told that without the Engineers former Covenant tech is falling apart. And that's right after the war - H4 takes place 4 years later.

Remember that they were slaves, as shown in ODST.

dude i for one like the new cortana and as you see in the pictures you show us she just gets a better make over every halo if ther is ever a halo 5 i can wait to see it

If you look at your picture Cortana seems to be getting more and more physically mature. I don't mean to be a perv but... Her breasts do seen to get bigger each game. If anything it's been an ongoing process that BUNGIE started and 343i continued. I think it's been brought to your attention because you just realized this OP. [Edited on 06.18.2012 8:25 PM PDT]
Posted by: lupe1the1fiasco I'm more bothered by the fact that her face pops up on the screen every time she talks. Reminds me of Lost Planet or some nonsense.
I have a feeling that this may tie into her decent into rampancy. You'll be able to see and hear her decent into insanity. That's likely gonna be a little unsettling to the chief.

I too dislike the makeover process. The more human a computer begins to look, the more I start to associate human behavior with it, and thus the less I subconsciously believe it's a computer. The feeling of working with a Smart AI is much different than working with an intelligent human. There are a ton of subtle things that come into play. Computers are incredibly more rational, immeasurably faster at thinking, have a near perfect memory, can calculate things faster than you can provide the numbers, don't let emotions fog their view, and so on. When working with humans, you have to trust that they know what they're talking about. With super computers, you know that they know what they're talking about. I can appreciate the simplicity of the original Cortana model. It wasn't even on par with the human models of the game. Virtually a simple outline with a handful of textures which resembled a 30ish year old woman. I don't want to work with a naked sex-icon when I'm killing aliens. I'd rather work with a smart-ass 30ish year old woman looking super computer. Really, though, it's just a minor detail. I'm still going to get the game eventually.

Hot Cortana is bad!? Are you ghey? So making her a little bit sexier makes the game down played?
-
I still don't get why everyone focus on her looks. I'm just drawn to the face and the detail in it. When she screamed "I will not let you leave this planet!", I was frightened.
-
This^ Times x100000! If people care so much about her look 343i will go out of their way to make her look attractive. Her dialogue and presence was intimidating. I do like the video feature, reminds me of Ghost Recon, finally we get face time with Cortana more often.

Physiology = body. Not armor or gear.
