I don't mind her new appearance. Sure they made her a lot more...defined with her latest makeover. But it's not something that bothers me.

And I think they did add a little HUD where the face pops up. probably doesn't pop up everytime she talks though, but I'm definitely gonna have to get used to seeing this new face. It's like she's a new Cortana.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of it either, mainly cause she used to be long and thin. Now she looks bloated, swollen. I'm not buying the whole "trying too look more human" thing either. First of all, since when has she been described as looking, well not human, isn't that just a graphical barrier? And secondly, if she's struggling with rampancy or whatever, wouldn't she have to focus on that, instead of giving everything she's able to get her hands on, a makeover? Most of them didn't think they were the same person, even though I explained that she had gone through a redesign. So if people who aren't already interested in Halo don't like her new appearance... I half-support your rant, but only appearance-wise. They should have kept the same overall facets of her character and changed perhaps the patterns on her skin, the little details on her. I don't mind the "sexified" appearance. In fact, she looks much more human now, even if she is a bit more... well, more. I do like the premise on her character development, and her ongoing struggle with rampancy, it will certainly be a very interesting plot element. In this light, her appearance seems almost trivial. Don't forget she also doesn't show her holographic body 90% of the time. Her voice and character define cortana, not her looks. PD I don't mind the boobs :D [Edited on 06.12.2012 11:03 PM PDT]

IF I get that explanation in-game, the "trying to achieve humanity," I'll accept it. But I for one think 343i wants sex to sell. Cortana is the main female character at this point, and from this point on, she'll probably be on lists with Lara Croft and Bayonetta, which isn't what Cortana is about. I want to care about Cortana because she's smart and losing her mind, not because I need more AI chesticles during my cutscenes. [Edited on 06.12.2012 10:33 PM PDT]

Cortana has changed every game, as evidenced by your link. Although her new appearance may seem to invoke sex appeal (Didnt Jason Jones call Cortana "everyone's dream girlfriend?) Personally I think she is trying to model herself to look more human to appeal to John, or is trying to achieve humanity, being driven mad by her AI limitations.
