You know why the community died out after Reach?

Because Bungie abandoned it. Reach wouldn't have sucked so bad without bloom since 2010, or if Armor Lock wasn't able to shed off stickies since 2010. But Bungie proved how much they will support their community. Getting rich and abandoning it. At least Treyarch and Infinity Ward Patch their damn games. [Edited on 05.07.2012 9:46 PM PDT]

So when you make EVERY LOBBY! in control of the majority. That's all I ever play.... is Team Slayer. If the playlist has objective and Team Slayer buried in it together. You're going to be playing Team Slayer 90% of the time. I mean just pop in CoD and tell me...which of their playlists has the largest populations? The regular Team Deathmatch pulls about 60-70% of the total population.
If they put super slayer in the first slot, it's population would increase drastically.
Sad but true. Simply switch the two slots and Super Slayer's population will skyrocket because so many Reach players (especially the ones still in TS, lol) just don't know the difference.

 • Bungie was first developer to make a patch for a Console Game (Halo2). And they released a Patch for Halo 3. Halo REACH. I guess the hand over was the cause why Bungie did not release a Patch. The only FIX REACH needed was AL. Sticking someone, and they use AL and just bounce it off, sucked big time. [Edited on 05.08.2012 8:02 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: SatansReverence
Posted by: boomdeyadah Or it's because they couldn't do anything other than a MM update every month? They didn't abandoned the community. I can guarantee you that Bungie would of made a TU if they could, and it would of been done properly, not half-assed like 343 did.
I would like to believe this but Bungie had their chance to fix the garbage Beta > final release but they didn't. Jeremiah is the only Bungie employee I trust.
yeah so many things we wanted nerfed in the beta but they didn't listen.

 •
Posted by: Kira Onime
I love how this degenerated into 'which weapon is better at close range' to 'which one can kill quicker when one of the players misses a bunch of their shots when there is absolutely no reason to assume he would miss a single one.'

 •
Posted by: burritosenior
AR > BR close range. BR > AR anything above close range. The BR will kill faster than the AR in close range assuming all 12 bullets land on target. That's in a perfect world but the reality is that not all 12 shots will hit and that's when the AR can kill the other player. That's assuming the AR user has thumbs. Simple really.

 •
Posted by: burritosenior In the video I posted earlier, all the shots from both weapons hit. The Battle Rifle won. The person I quoted earlier in this post claims that if you move around, even if both people land every shot the results will change since one player is moving. Maybe someone good at Halo can answer me, but apparently moving increases the damage of your weapon!
Assuming all the bullets hit, BR wins regardless of whether or not you're strafing. There's no other way around it.

 •
Posted by: MR E0S What makes you think ranks mean much of anything when you consider your playing on a p2p system over the internet?
lol really now? host advantage isn't that big of a deal. I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars to compete in a video game tournament. You're making the mistake of assuming that people who want good gameplay online are automatically hyper competitive gaming freaks who should shell out real money to go play video games somewhere. I already paid 60 bucks for the game and I'm paying 60 more a year to play it. Is it too much to ask for it to be not retarded?

 •
Posted by: MR E0S Who knows, maybe I have it all wrong, and you are the type of person who continually plays on the easiest difficulty possible. How then could you possibly call yourself competitive?
I always play on the highest difficulty, but I'm not a 'hyper-competitive' player. I don't really like playing MLG for too long and I don't crave to have Onyx, multiple 50s and playlist gens. With that said, I still want to see my skill rewarded, and out of all the Halo games, Reach does it the least.

 •
Posted by: MR E0S What makes you think ranks mean much of anything when you consider your playing on a p2p system over the internet? That fact alone invalidates most the validity that ranks have on anything. When you factor in everything else. And I beleive.... someone had a really good post to sum it all up.. I'll have to find it. But anyway, it had to do with the idea of 1 person deciding the outcome of battle and carrying a bunch of losers to victory. Yeah.. SCREW RANKS! SCREW 1-50!
Yes and if you look above I said I would have no issue paying a bit more to have dedicated for ranked playlists like gow3.

 •
Posted by: MR E0S For regular matchmaking. What should technically be a casual setting for the most part. (True competitive play belongs at lan tournaments) Yes. Because regular matchmaking should be treated as just that. A training ground of sorts.. If your an awesome player. Do you want the bots you train against to be on easy difficulty, or do you bump the difficulty of the bot up to give you a challenge? Why then does that motivation change if the training partner is a human being?
lol no I'm sorry I forgot Halo 2 and 3 didn't have ranked playlists I forgot.
