Who else is depressed about Halo 4?
I certainly am, happily awaiting more information about Call of Halo 4.
Confused?
Well I'll tell you something.
-Before you read, I'm not singling out CoD, I'm simply using it as an example in my belief of 343's pandering.
-More armor abilities
-I pretty sure there was going to be a gun shop, correct me if not
-Sprint for all players, because CoD obviously doesn't have that, if Halo implemented default sprint for all players after a handful of titles without it, it's obvious that 343 has no major issues
-Forerunner vision:
Call it X-ray vision with lag, so now the armor ability just doesn't make sense. We could sure use X-ray vision today, it's just that it's illegal, it causes cancer, so in the future they have lag? -_-
-For the first time in Halo, weapons will have alternating/dynamic spawn locations, which means players will have to remember the spawns of every single weapon on the map and check out each spawn before getting a sniper rifle.
-Oh can't forget, SPARTAN OPS
That's a great name a three-year old told to try and copy CoD's spec ops absolutely woudn't make. I expected at LEAST a good name, but what? You call it spartan ops?
WTF?
But, no, I thought the idea was nice. It's just the name. Spartan Ops. Ugh. But once again, it was a nice idea, weekly co-op episodic campaign, not too bad.

And right!
Armor abilities can now be purchased through the store, we've been doing this all along... every single halo... nothing new, and I don't see anything related to CoD here.
-And, John's personality is confirmed to change throughout the campaign.
Most of this news is bad news to me, but fortunately not all.
Did I miss anything else?

Expect to see; DMR, BR, AR, Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle, Needle Rifle, Cove Carbine, Repeater, and Needler as selectable starting weapons.

I tried to have faith for 343i, but denial is for baddies. Unfortunately, I think you're right. Also the "click x to spawn" or whatever. I'm probably gonna get the game anyway, but will be disappointed.

Some people must have had high hopes for 343i if they automatically assume they'd be stupid enough to apply these changes all accross the board. /sarcasm

I will miss the days when matches were played fairly.. Everyone started the same and u had to work "in match" to get ahead,,, this will be terribly uneven and will cause great rifts btw fans my heart weeps X(

If Halo DIDN'T change, I'd be depressed. As long as it feels like Halo, it's Halo. Why would we want them to follow the WORST CoD model: The copy and paste of last year's game with no improvements whatsoever? One way or another, Halo will end up being like CoD (copy and paste, or mechanics). Personally I'd rather pay for something new, rather than super old.

What made HALO 2 a HALO game was the Covenant and human aspects. Humanity's war against the aliens. You see this present in multiplayer because you have both Covenant and Human weapons. Single player defines what multiplayer will be like. Always.

You know, there is such thing as taking ideas from other games. Heck, 343 might not have been thinking of CoD when they named Spartan Ops, they could have just been thinking and when they thought of the idea for a side-campaign, they named it Spartan Operations, because it will be MANY different missions. Think before you post. Sprint for all players was made for competitive gameplay, so if you prefer using Jetpack but need to get somewhere quick, switch on the Sprint. Think before you post. 343 wanted diversity in the game, thus the random weapon spawns. Think before you post. 343 wants more competitive games or interesting custom games, so they add Promethean Vision. Think before you post. 343 wants you to rank up and get credits to let you have better equipment, so you can buy guns and armor abilities. Think Before You Post

It seems that people forget, the story was the most important part of a game BEFORE their was online gaming. Good storytelling is rare these days.

I'm a fan of the Halo Universe but I didn't buy a second Xbox and copy of the game to play single player. Neither did the majority of my highschool, the multiplayer component of Halo is why Halo has gotten so big.

Why will there be Forerunner tech in Halo 4's multiplayer? Because there is Forerunner tech in Halo 4's story. What happens in the story affects the elements of the multiplayer. I never said what sells better. I said the story is what makes Halo HALO. When people think of Halo, they think of Master Chief not their multiplayer Spartan. [Edited on 05.07.2012 5:06 PM PDT]

Im with the OP. I was never excited about H4 but all I will do is not buy it. I dont see H4 making Halo the super power it once was.
