Mail Sack is open!
Please report to the mail room to drop a question into the Sack. What's on your mind? What would you like to know about the people at Bungie?
The goal is to sustain a light-hearted conversation between Bungie developers and the Bungie Community. The best questions are the ones that let us share a fun moment. Questions that dig into our current project will be passed over. We will talk about that later. Questions that require us to comment on industry controversies - thus sparking a nasty feud between us and other developers that we respect - will be strategically misplaced.
This is a chance for us to share a bit of ourselves with you while we toil away in this self-imposed dark phase. Let's keep the mood light. Shall we? We do so enjoy the weekly exchange.

How do you decide specifically what you want to do in the gaming industry? Or more specifically what would you suggest to someone who knows they want to be a part of it but is not sure what part?

When looking at player behavior in Halo, what is one thing that juat made you say WTF??? Like, something you completely didn't expect that blindsided you? What happens to material that is cut from games? Why don't you do what movie studios do, and include it as a bonus feature of colelctor's editions or other special editions of the game? How do you feel about gamers who divide themseves into "camps" with one camp attacking another blindly, instead of just enjoying games as they are? Do you think video games should be considered art?

As a developer, can you still be fans of the game you're creating? By that I mean do you still get giddy playing through the campaign or after learning new things about the game?

Question for Marty, maybe not read it in previous mail sacks. But where did you inspiration for the Halo soundtrack come from? Who is your favourite composer or one to look up to? Have you heard the Journey soundtrack? Also to bungie. Ever considered a multiplayer system like that of Journey where you are placed with random people who you do not know even during gameplay. And your communication system is based on a couple of motions. Like the beacon in Journey.
