What are your views on "game" clothing.

Most of the kids at my school that wear anything related to gaming like a Halo hoodie or a Left 4 Dead t-shirt get talked down on. Most of them are kind of weird or no one really knows them so that doesn't help the image. I don't care for it but I would never wear anything game related like a Mass Effect hoodie or anything at all. The only exception to gaming related clothes I would wear is a plain black t shirt with a Gears of War omen on it. Not because I like the game but because I like how it looks it seems to be my style and since my friends aren't hardcore gamers and the only game big in between them is Gears of War they would think it's pretty cool / not care. Honestly I know most people don't care what other people think of them so I understand if I was into game clothing I wouldn't care about people laughing behind my back as long as I was happy. So what do you think? Is it begging to be laughed at? Is it just something no one would care about? Is it something people give compliments on? [Edited on 04.08.2012 6:12 PM PDT]

  • I wear my BBBB and black Bungie t-shirt from time to time. Never got any trouble from it. It shouldn't really be looked down upon, unless they are bragging about it. Then its just annoying.

  • I do enjoy wearing my gaming shirts...although the ones I have aren't super nerdy. The nerdiest shirt I have is a light blue Pacman shirt that says 'Nom Nom Nom' on it. That's the kind of shirt that I only wear around my house and not in public....I know the limits... But all of my other shirts aren't as nerdy looking as that one. I have an Atari shirt, some Halo shirts, a Mass Effect 3 N7 shirt (which is lost somewhere and I have yet to wear it =/), and I believe that's it. Of course I have an equal amount of regular clothes as well. [Edited on 06.08.2012 11:24 PM PDT]

  • I wear my Get a life shirt(1-Up), I'm the Bomb(Bomb-omb), and Aperture Laboratories(Portal) shirts often with no problems, just compliments or no comments at all

  • I wear clothing that has no logos on it and never notice when I'm wearing a shirt otherwise unless it's pointed out. That said, I might wear something that supports Bungie.

  • I wear a BF3 t-shirt sometimes. Nobody really acts any different around me. Then again it doesn't have any characters or anything. Just a black shirt with Battlefield 3 on it.

  • I got a free Black Ops shirt that I got from buying 1 year of Xbox Live. I would still wear it if it wasn't too small. I also have a Zelda t-shirt that has the Hyrule crest on the front, and on the back neck is the Zelda: Ocarina of Time logo. I wear it proudly a couple times a month. I honestly don't see a big deal in wearing a shirt that references a game, when people wear shirts that reference music, movies, etc.

Some designs are cool. I don't get many though because of shipping costs being a -blam!- and all that. Still, I have a Burn Bright, Burn Blue shirt as well as a Fight the Flood shirt. I wear these often enough but never on non-uniform days at schools because I don't want to be hassled for it. Still, a friend complimented me on my BB,BB shirt but never knew it was Bungie/Halo related.

  • I own a Gears of War 3 shirt. I don't wear it proudly because its at least a size too big and is not that comfortable. I also had a Halo hoodie at some point. Don't know what happened to it, but I never wore it.

  • I only hate the shirts that take some character or person and "gangstafy" them by giving them shiny teeth and gang banger clothes. Game character or not, I HATE those shirts. I personally wear a Noble team insignia shirt, Halo 3 shirt, and a shirt that shows Noble team. I had a badass StarCraft shirt, but I lost it moving.

  • It depends on whether or not it's subtle. The N7 logo on a shirt is fine. The game cover is overkill.
